  1. I have both. I buy the metal ones because their cheap. I prefer Pmags though.   I've had issues with some C products mags I bought from AIM Surplus. I probably won't buy any more of those.
  2. Ever since I started shooting years back, I've always heard that magazine springs are not weakened simply because you keep them loaded. The explanation has always been that the constant compression and decompression of the springs results in weak springs.   I disagree with this logic.   I recently reported a separate issue with my winchester defender shotgun. This gun has spent the last 30 years in a closet and I'm positive that it has fewer than 200 shells through it over the years. Probably closer to 100. However, I believe it's spent at least half its life fully loaded with 7 in the tube. During a recent sporting clay outing I started having malfunctions where the shell wouldn't make it to the chamber. To make this short, the magazine had lost strength and upon receiving the replacement part I found the old spring had shrunk to nearly half it's original size.   So, if storing them loaded doesn't weaken the spring then how could this be? I know this gun wasn't continuously loaded and unloaded.    Another observation. Any time I get a new pistol(especially Glocks) the magazines are extremely difficult to load the first time. Why is it that the same people that claim loading mags won't weaken them will tell new gun owners "just load the magazine for a few days and the springs will loosen up".     Why is it that after a few days of being stored loaded, my Glock magazines are suddenly easier to load? Why is it that my magazines that have been loaded for years, but shot very little, are easier to load than my magazines stored empty but used often at the range?   Everything I have witnessed has been a direct contradiction to this logic that is often repeated time and time again on gun forums.   What am I missing?
  3. I don't understand how this keep happening. I'm pretty paranoid when going through the TSA checkpoint so I double check everything.   My moms friend got busted with her Glock in her purse. Then a year later she forgot to remove her knife...
  4. My local wally world got rid of the limit back in the fall but when I was in there last week they have a new sign up limiting only .22lr   It's not like it really helps though.
  5.   I would hardly call that an attack. The moose was being territorial and basically pushed him. The guy easily pushed the moose back and waited until it was leaving before firing. I think I would feel differently if the moose wouldn't leave him alone and kept "attacking". But even before that it seems like he could have gone around.     You think that was a 9mm? It was  definitely a Glock, full size, but I couldn't tell what caliber.
  6. Justified or not?   http://www.outdoorhub.com/news/video-snowmobiler-shoots-moose-glock/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feb%2025%20Daily%20Newswire%20%281%29&utm_content=&spMailingID=45200718&spUserID=NDQxMjcwODQ0NDcS1&spJobID=383361267&spReportId=MzgzMzYxMjY3S0     I'm trying really hard not to judge this guy but I really feel this could have been avoided.
  7. Wait, didn't you guys create a thread asking for prayers because you needed money? Now you're picking up a motorcycle.   Doesn't seem like the best financial decision given your recent bad luck.
  8.   Is this only on HBO?
  9.   Ever watch "talking dead" after the show? Even the host/actors/producers seem to be pretty clueless. I know I shouldn't be surprised.
  10. I left him a nice parting note on his facebook page. So far everyone is tearing him a new one. I've yet to see anyone post something nice.   I hope this guy takes a hint.
  11.   I was thinking the same thing. We're 4 seasons in now and only a few times has anyone mentioned sustainability. They will eventually run out of food if they don't start farming.
  12.   They don't have to be full, just not empty
  13.   If it makes you feel any better, we'd move back to TN tomorrow if we could. FL is a great place to visit but we miss TN.   We live in Clermont which is 25 miles northwest of the city. This picture was taken in an area called the Green Swamp which is open to hunting, hiking and camping. It was taken while walking on this trail which I highly recommend if you're ever in the area.   http://www.floridastateparks.org/vanfleet/   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Van_Fleet
  14. While not a trail cam picture, we spotted an alligator today while out walking.
  15. I don't know if it's getting worse but it damn sure isn't getting better. Until I can walk into my local wal-mart to find the shelf full of .22lr and 9mm I won't be happy.    The strange thing is that in certain parts of the country som calibers are readily available while being non-existent in other parts.    In central FL, 9mm .22lr and .380 and extremely difficult to find. .40 .45 and 5.56/.223 are usually in stock.
  16. I would have been very happy if the video suddenly showed your friend taking a 12 ga to this POS right on camera. I'm glad for your friend that he won't have to deal with the emotional scar that would have created but I fear this POS will be right back on the streets to do this again. He clearly hasn't learned his lesson.
  17.   I assume he's picking fun at the vest.
  18. If one has the money to invest in security cameras they should also install a security system.   Hopefully they will catch this douche bag.
  19. I know I shouldn't be surprised but did he really say this?
  20. For the life of me I can't understand why they would do this.
  21. That is incredibly disturbing and uncecessary. Just kill the damn thing if you must, don't make it starve.
  22. Completely missed the existing thread.   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/76260-mom-fights-back-against-intruders-breaking-in-her-home/
  23. But I'm pretty sure they will get the job done when needed.   Mom in Detroit fights back against armed intruders with her Hi Point carbine.   http://www.wxyz.com/news/mom-opens-fire-on-home-invaders-in-detroit-to-defend-children
  24. Looks awesome!
