These 2 things are great, but essentially inverse of one another. We're seeing this play out in real time. You cannot lower taxes while simultaneously increasing spending. The GOP is a lot of things, fiscally responsible they are not. They like to claim that they are, so long as they aren't in power. The next recession is going to be a real mess. If we thought $1 trillion deficits were huge I can only imagine what's about to come.

Fixed that for you. Parties change. Things happen. I would not be surprised if the GOP flips on this issue in my lifetime.

The bottom line is that our President, supposedly the savior of the 2nd Amendment, encouraged and pushed for this to happen. He went on record multiple times saying it. Had Obama done the same thing we would have had multiple threads and 100 angry responses. The gun community would be livid right now.

I asked this same question a few months ago. No one took the bait.

Multiple witnesses have also directly challenged the official account. They claim that several officers were already on scene when another officer burst in and shot the security guard. Even other officers were shocked and were yelling that he was one of the good guys. I'd like to see the body cams before passing judgment. We're all guessing at this point. I do agree that we've always been taught to secure the gun before officers arrive. With this being an active scene, I can understand why the guard was hesitant to holster his gun. Just a sad situation all around.

It's also legal in Florida and Georgia to have a drink or two while armed. I could be wrong but my understanding is that even 1 sip in TN could result in arrest and loss of carry permit.

I agree. Most of the people I talk to are very moderate. Even my democratic friends are not anti gun, contrary to what this forum says about the left. Even the ones that seemed to favor gun control quickly changed their mind once I explained some things to them.

How exactly do the dems plan to get this accomplished? We are we even concerned? Nothing is going to get through the Senate.

Thanks for correcting my mistake there. I was under the impression they had control. I remember it was voted on, and failed. I still think if something serious were to pass it would be struck down by the supreme court.

Didn't they have control after Sandy Hook? If they can't pass it after 30 1st graders were killed I'm doubtful they will at all. Trump has also stacked the SC to help us if it was ever challenged.

The news is reporting there were 6 off duty officers at the bar, either unarmed or not in a position to help. That's though. I understand the desire to not always be armed so one can go out and have fun but I'm betting they are regretting that decision this morning. I certainly go out a fair amount and my wife and I take turns being the DD. It's also being reported some of the survivors were also present at the Last Vegas massacre. Those people probably cannot believe their luck (or lack of).

When my wife was going through a stressful time at work I bought her a bottle. She said it really helped. I couldn't help but notice I was the only customer in the shop under 60. One woman was so old and frail I had to help her up from the couch. Apparently word is out, CBD does wonders for a lot of people. I'm convinced if they legalized weed these same old folks would line up for something stronger. We would probably all be a little nicer to one another too.
