  1. I am looking at a full size M&P and was considering getting it in .40 The question is if you can put a 9mm barrel into a .40 and all still work with a magazine change of course? Also, would I have to change the recoil spring? Thanks Builder Bob
  2. That is great news since I have family there. Now if you did not have to drive half way around the country to avoid Illinois/Chicago to get to Milwaukee that would great.
  3. Let me preface this by saying that I have not had ADT service, but when I was working on a local museum and they had a need for security/fire protection the Fire Marshall would not accept monitoring from ADT so they went with ADS Security. The Fire Marshall said they had many problems with the monitoring by ADT.
  4. I was at work in Clarksville, TN at the restoration of the historic courthouse after the tornado damage. My wife called and said that there was a plane that hit the WTC. At first we heard it was a small plane but later learned it was no accident. I remember there were police officers on every corner downtown for the rest of the day and several following. It was so surreal, I remember only seeing one other plane in the air that afternoon after hearing everything was grounded, flying so high it could be barely seen. Like others anger, sorrow for those lost, outrage etc. repeat. Thank you to each of you that have served, are serving and the the families of those that gave the ultimate sacarifice, both military and first responders!
  5. ^^^ what he said, common sense is not common!!
  6. I feel everyone's pain that works outside, since I do also. Fresh concrete slabs for the new parking garage on the afternoon of the pour are 130-140 degrees. Layout for control lines and columns is like having a faucet over your head, and everywhere else for that matter!
  7. It was titled "I almost got a speeding ticket today" I think.
  8. Army ammo to go lead free. Trials start this week for performance. Army to Test New 'Green' Bullets - FoxNews.com I see more expensive ammo coming since they will want to outlaw lead cores for the "green movement".
  9. Call Dodd Electric, I have used them on several commercial projects. They are both commercial & residential and have had reasonable rates in the past. Builder Bob
  10. I was thinking about trying to get out to 5 - 600 yds. It might be best with a bolt gun for there and beyond but just getting started with the thought process between 6.8 or ar-10/308 etc. in a semi auto.
  11. So I am thinking about building a rifle and was considering 6.8 for caliber. I am wondering if anyone has looked into stretching the effective distance? I was trying to stay in the ar-15 format and not stepping up to the ar-10 (.308). So if I increase the barrel length(vs standard 16" carbine), how much would that increase range? Would it be better to look at the 6.5 instead? I think would like to stick with 6.8 since it appears to be the more popular caliber at least right now. FYI, The primary rifle purpose would be hunting and long range target shooting. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated
  12. I would be up for it, of course pending schedule and no Sunday's for me either!
  13. I saw that one when looking for a new light that was more battery friendly that 123's, but ending up with a Coast LED Lenser. It claims 105 lumens from 3 AAA batteries, and a focusing bezel to adjust from flood to spot. Also claims it runs for 120 hours but too new to know about that yet. So far pretty pleased with it. 14. I was working on the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville after tornado damage that morning. My wife called and said that a plane had hit the tower. The rest of the day it seemed as if not even the birds were flying. It was one of the clearest blue sky days with nothing in it. Prayers to family and friends of those lost that day. Builder Bob
  15. Nothing like neutering our national defense for the sake of feeling good and getting a pat on the back from the rest of the world!
  16. WOW! How did this guy get elected???
  17. I think a buddy and I are trying to get there for this. I have heard it is something to see!
  18. I have sent Mr. Gordon several emails since this debate started and received a couple back from him but I don't think his mind is going to change especially since he is not seeking another term
  19. A few years ago my wife got me the looney tune dvd collection and now we & the kids get to enjoy them like I did growing up. Good stuff!
  20. I think Punisher 84 hit it on the head, a date night/afternoon was what worked for me. Now she does not always go with me but at least she is up for it. It also helps that several friends from church want to go with me the next time and their wives have also voiced interest also. Sounds like a group outing is next.
  21. I was expecting to see the camerman become a hood ornament when the IDIOT walked in front of the car while clutch boy was trying to spin the tires! DUH!
  22. FWIW, I have not used their cs, but I was in Milwaukee WI. recently and my cousin's husband works for the city of Milwaukee police dept. They are finishing up retraining with the M&P 40 after changing from the Glock 22's. I asked about any problems mentioned in above posts and he said that they were very pleased with them and had no issues. They have officially adopted the S&W over the Glock.
  23. 99 Dodge 2500 w/ CTD, stock except for the jake brake. Used to have a Kubota diesel tractor but sold it when we moved!
  24. If it is "D" all of the above, will it taste like chicken?
  25. And it has a drive-thru window also!
