  1. After watching, a friend found some incendiary rounds for sale on an auction site. Starting bid for 20...over $45. Sparkly bullet fun ain't cheap. Neither is keeping those drums full on that magazine, but I still want one.
  2. Nice plug, sir! Yeah, well I actually bought 3 tickets, plus TICS, plus FFL fee, plus Gen4 upgrade fee to Glock and tax on the upgrade fee. All-in-all, my free Glock actually cost me around $130. What a rip off! Seriously though Glock Shooting Sports Foundation was awesome to give Music City Tactical Shooters this gun for hosting the event, our club was awesome to let us safety officers who worked the match have a chance to win it, but most of all I was awesome for buying the lucky ticket.
  3. When Glock says 12 weeks, Glock means 12 weeks. At 4:45 today, I finally got the call from my FFL today saying the gun I sent off my paperwork and arranged my FFL transfer almost exactly 12 weeks ago was in. That was as good a reason as any to leave work 15 minutes early. Now all I need is to install some decent sights, a Ghost trigger connector, and a Vickers mag release. All are well worth it since this is a freebie. My last Glock was a 34. Wow, what a difference a good trigger connector makes.
  4. One can only try so many search parameters (incendiary, glock drum, etc) before giving up and posting.
  5. this is one bada$$ piece of Tuperware! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsSA_kCt5lg
  6. I've been wanting to try casting for quite a while. The way I see it, I'd be gaining another level of contol over my own reloading operation. My only holdbacks have been finding material and time to do enough reading up to feel comfortable buying equipment and trying it.
  7. I stepped down the crimp to where it just takes the bell out of the case. It looks much better now...can't wait to shoot some this weekend. Thanks for your help guys.
  8. Here's some pics of some I seated/crimped with no powder. Do any of them look right to you guys? I could sure use some input. These bullets have no grooves, so seating just above the cartridge lip and cripmping seems to be to heavy based on the indention in the lead I see after pulling a bullet.
  9. Got an email from Jeff, his next advanced class isn't until October. He said he'd email when he gets the date settled. He'll likely post it to his site as well, but I'll update here when he lets me know. I think it'll prove to be worth the wait.
  10. Excellent point, I respect your perspective. I've heard them bad-mouthed so many times it's not funny. I assume those people are just ignorant about these guns. I'm guessing they figure that any gun that costs under $200 OTD must be crap, but they're wrong. I went to a training class back in May and the instructor said someone brought one of his HCP classes. The instructor had never even heard of one and several people in class laughed and said they were guns for criminals. I was glad to hear the instructor say the guy with the C9 shot as good as anyone else with no malfunctions.
  11. Good point Mike.357...I don't have a bass boat, but I do have kids and a pool. The amount of trouble is definitely NOT worth it sometimes, LOL.
  12. I think they are comfortable out of the box, but wait til you've sweated on it for a couple of weeks and it forms to fit your hip! You won't believe how comfy it is then.
  13. I would not throw my kid out for making a mistake, no matter how big the mistake is. I think that is tantamount to giving up and wrong. In fact, regardless of what I'd let my daughter believe I'd do, I'd never react like this father did over this type of situation.
  14. It had ready been pointed out earlier in THIS post that your irreverent referral to The Holy Bible as if it's just any old book was offensive. So I'm not the only one who felt antagonized by that comment. You were not quoted out of context and it does not take an explicit declaration with Christianity singled out to see your intent.
  15. My mistake, perhaps. Last I knew, he was with the airport police at BNA, which I thought was a division of Metro. If I have gotten this part wrong, it's my bad - not his, I didn't realize they were not affiliated before I opened my big mouth. Sorry. After doing some looking...I see that they are NOT affiliated in any way, but...the airport police are CALEA accredited, adhere to POST standards, are trained at the TN State Fire & Police Academy as well as the airport police academy.
  16. Jeff charges $65 for HCP classes and does a good job at it, IMO. I liked having taken the class from an LEO rather than a private citizen. That other perspective is priceless.
  17. I have no doubt that you are intelligent enough to know what "reverence" is and what beliefs are held sacred by Christians. That is why I don't believe for a second that you don't realize that comments like... ...are very antagonistic and inflammatory to Christians. Based on your history on TGO of making anti-Christian comments and the reactions you've gotten, I think you carefully choose to use comments like this. I may be mistaken, but I get the distinct impression that enjoy antagonizing Christians for their faith. I do not recall a single instance when someone belittled, mocked, or took jabs at your or anyone else's lack of a religion. Assuming you have no religious faith and hold no ideals with the sacred regard that Christians have for God, the Holy Bible, and Jesus; how is it that you are so offended when someone else does that you feel the need to "put them in their place"? Our faith should not detract from your lack thereof.
  18. It's never banned when SOME people suspect that your sense of morality might be based on it. They can't resist the opportunity.
  19. Mine too. If you liked his style in the HCP class and enjoy shooting, you'll like this class.
  20. I told my 14 yr daughter the gist of the story. Aside from the boys still being alive to tell the story, she seemed to think that's similar to how it would have gone down at our house. ...I've decided not to mess with her expectations on this one.
  21. Perhaps I could have been more clear... You can force someone to salute you, you can force someone to call you sir, and you can force someone to follow orders. These are merely gestures that allow respect to be implied, but only a fool would infer they were being respected from these demonstrations alone. I respect lots of people and every one of them has earned it. I fake respect to far more people out of fear of reprisal. I do NOT believe Obama respects our soldiers or what their service stands for. I think he fakes this respect for cameras out of fear of reprisals by the public on election day. I respect the office of the presidency, but I do not respect the man who is currently making a mockery of that post.
  22. We'll never get a fair shake from today's mainstream media. If they got their way and guns magically disappeared, stabbings and bludgeonings would go up dramatically. Violent crime has always and will always exist, regardless of the existence of guns. Then the weak would be at an even bigger disadvantage against the strong.
  23. I wish my daughter always acted like I raised her, but she doesn't. Luckily, it's the small stuff, not the big stuff. She gets good grades, hasn't gotten pregnant, isn't doing drugs, and hasn't been caught hosting a threesome, so I count myself lucky. People are individuals and have their own sense of morality (or lack thereof) and their own degrees of self-control. I have 3 siblings that were raised under the same influence that I was, yet 2 of those 3 have struggled to do what they learned to be "right" most of the time. One will clearly never learn, but at least the other is finally seeing the light. Their actions are absolutely NOT a reflection on my parents and the values they tried to instill. I know b/c I have the same values my parents have and cannot see how they could make the decisions they've made.
  24. What can you do in a situation like that? Most dads might want to scare the crap out of the boys and maybe even kick their ass. The daughter deserves something too, but not this much. All-in-all, this dad did what many of us might want to do in that situation, if there were no consequences. At least now, we know what might happen, if we do.
  25. Respect must be earned. It is not given out of duty...that would be fear. Regardless, it cannot be a NON-political picture of a President doing his duty, b/c the White House released the photo for purely political reasons.
