  1. Perhaps he was riding one of Mr. Garrison's personal transport vehicles...
  2. My dad would round off one of the corners of a putty knife and sharpen the 2 of the edges where it had been rounded. This let it bend a lil to the contour of the shell. Of course first he'd have to use a hatchet to cut/bust the bone around the edges on the sides. Good ole redneck ingenuity...
  3. I've heard of the Log Cabin Republicans...fiscally conservative for the most part, but also pro-2A. Good bunch of folks in that regard.
  4. When I was a teenager, my dad and I went frog gigging with friends/relatives all the time. We almost always came home with a snapper or 2. Good eats! mmmm turtle gumbo!
  5. I just re-opened my browser for the first time this week w/out having to re-login. Thanks OhShoot for the multiple cookie tip. Also, I read the enemy rags too, but couldn't resist commenting. It's like riding a moped...fun til your friends see ya.
  6. OhShoot, better zap that TMZ cookie, before somebody sees it.
  7. Funny, I got the same impression. I thought he was trying to get the guy to smart off, so he could rough him up. The guy played it smart too, I think this cop would have loved to see him resist or something.
  8. I know this won't be very popular, but actually think stupid people shouldn't be allowed to vote. I'm not saying there should be an IQ line in the sand, just that folks have a basic understanding of civics, current affairs, and where candidates stand on issues. I'd settle for a 30 minute class in lieu of a test, but Obama would put his community organizers in charge of it and ruin the idea. Likewise, they wouldn't want Ron Paul in charge of it either, so I guess it can't happen.
  9. Next thing you know, JAB will be trying to tell us this guy's a Republican too. Just kidding man
  10. I knew you were, no idea why I typed "is". You were very clear, I just screwed up. This is 100% understandable. Those who walk the "thin blue line" together are often even closer than family and for good reason. They put their lives in each others hands.FWIW...I am VERY familiar with the strong sense of unity at play. My ex's father and her brother were cops and I learned a lot from them. In fact, when what seemed like half the LAPD watched a few cops beat Rodney King, I got a unique insight from them about the ordeal. He was on drugs, ran from them for a long time, putting multiple lives in danger, resisted arrest, and kept trying to get up for the sole reason that he wanted to keep fighting with them. I'm glad the cops didn't get in worse trouble than they did and angry that he got so much money. I'm not saying he deserved it, but I see why it happened. In this case I don't see the cop's side at all and was mostly just curious to see if any current LEO would step up and denounce this guys actions or not. You know they are talking about it at the station.
  11. Imagine if you cashed welfare checks too! You could afford to rent the consciences of several city councilmen in no time.
  12. I'd like to propose a $50 tax on casting stupid votes with an extra $50 tacked on if the idiot you voted for wins.
  13. If a bank around here put up a sign like that, I'd open an account. Best I can usually hope for is for there not to be a rob-me sign saying no guns allowed.
  14. This is happening to me on multiple PC's too. I have not made any changes to Internet security for IE or Firefox and both are affected. I think Worriedman is right about it being an MS update. I'll look at my update history and then jump on MSDN to see what I can find.
  15. After a member of a group does something like this officer did, some members privately approve/disapprove, some try to dinstance themselves, some defend/explain the situation, and some publicly denounced the acts. The group usually responds with some official message and it often sounds like the horse crap we heard from the Canton PD. When handled properly, both the group and its members respond quickly like the Baptists and other religions did to distance themselves from Fred Phelps and his bunch. I heard lots of people defend Michael Vick publicly, explaining his actions as part of his culture. I don't always agree with the explanation (like with Vick), but at least I respect them for stepping up and trying to shed light on things. I didn't check the profile of everyone who has replied to see who is/was an LEO. I know Dolomite is and I thank him for giving us his take. Still, I wish we could hear more of the perspectives of some current LEOs. I hear a lot about there being a code of silence among cops, but have no idea if it's true. It'd be good to know how some of them feel about it.
  16. Cauliflower kinda looks like brains. Maybe that would work?
  17. I've heard someone call somebody else a “****ing ******!” before knowing good and well that they weren't. They just said it to insult the other person. I'm not saying the bicyclist wasn't wearing a rainbow pride t-shirt, just that the assailant's choice of words were no guarantee that gay guy got punched because he's gay. I mean when I call someone an a-hole, I don't literally mean I think they are a rectum...just sayin'
  18. All while the cop is threatening, cursing, and insulting this guy about having a gun in his presence, I can't help but wonder what would happen if the guy had said 'what's that on your hip? a gun?'. Also, he told the alleged hooker and pimp that if he sees them again they'll "get lumps" or something like that. Sounds like an illegal threat to them too.
  19. I hate getting sniped in an auction, but I'd be really mad if I missed a good deal over 6% of the final sale price.
  20. Great idea, thanks for posting it...sticky please!
  21. yep, me too...thought it was a Firefox issue at first, but IE's doing it too. I change pages and try to post and get errors.
  22. I thought the same...in fact, the only reason I clicked was to see w/ my own eyes, LOL.
  23. LEO's are trained to exert a sense of confidence that is akin to dominance. There's no room for being wishy washy or timid in their line of work. The must appear to be in charge of every confrontation. I suspect this is often mistaken for a "power trip". However, the officer in this video has some serious issues. The language he uses aside is unnecessary, but the threats to a fully cooperating citizen are just plain inexcusable. My guess is that he'll be attending some on the clock anger management classes and be given a lengthy paid vacation soon.
