  1. as I told a friend, if you want birth control then buy it. My opinion is that health care is a responsibility of the individual. Birth control is not something that you need to address a disease, Birth control is for those looking to avoid the responsibility of a child. it is your call but no where should that be on the tax payer or the group of people that pay collective premiums. where democracy always goes wrong is when the lack of responsibility turns into a voting bloc
  2. No idea if the guy was right or wrong and neither does anyone else except the family. Some kids are too hard headed. My mother allowed my brother be who he wanted to be instead who he needs to be. Now he is a slob bum and hates life. He has no respect for himself or others. Everyone is different, some people need to be kicked in the rear and others simply need time. I know had I read that message I would have been mad and she would have been punished by the key is according to his comments, she has done this before. So, he has blown up but now is the time to show that you did this because you care and this was a lesson. In fact, what he does after he turned the camera off is more important than the message he put up for all to see.
  3. about 14 days. sent it in back on Dec 2, by Dec 16 i got it back
  4. my first vehicle was an 88 ford ranger lwb. blue with white 2 tone. the last year of HS I basically took nothing but autoshop so I wound up taking the truck apart and replacing/rebuilding everything I could with the hope that I could drive it for another 4 years throughout college. well turned out, everything I did not replace/rebuild started to go out on me . So about 8 months later I decided to buy my first truck which was a 97 f150 (the year ford changed body styles) .
  5. when you can not lead via with substance, you must try and bring down with ridicule
  6. have taken my ruger lcp everywhere i can. got an uncle buck sheath and it hides very well in my front or back pocket.
  7. "In the car, police reported finding a loaded handgun, but not until the woman's two-year-old son picked it up and pointed it at officers." only in memphis can momma get in trouble for leaving her kids alone in the car while she be gettin her nails did. I also bet the 2 yr old pointing the gun at an officer was LEARNED behavior
  8. Bloomberg Joins Menino for Super Bowl TV Commercial Opposing Illegal Guns - Bloomberg it is amazing how smart people can turn incredibly ignorant
  9. I was not there, but from what I remember, it was the people going crazy that prompted law enforcement to crack down. I know there were instances of some of the law going a little overboard but crazy times make people crazy
  10. man, if I had some cash on my I would help you out besides holding on to them for insurance, you can either take them to a dealer and sell them whole sale or sell them bits and piece style to individuals on craigslist.
  11. I remember a county commission meeting in Franklin that was covered by the tennessean. The hall was packed with nicely dressed men and women yet I sat there and watched the tennessean photographer follow this one guy with a tshirt that had the "god, guns and freedom" logo on it. Why would they do that? Well since I watched it happen and then read the story the next day I believe it was purely out of building upon a stereotype. A stereotype that tries to paint anything right wing as fringe logo shirt wearing wackos while ignoring the other 95% who do not look the part of what the paper is trying to portray. When I walk in to a gun store I would say 70% of who I see are nicely dressed with the remainder you camo wearing backwoods types. I simply think you are being disingenuous (with all due respect) if you don't think that the paper is not worried more about building a narrative through conjecture instead of being fully objective.
  12. How dare he twist words and mis represent the words of others!
  13. you know why settling this issue is so hard? because I have never read one objective article about gun owners from your paper. Criminals will use any means necessary to take advantage of the situation and instead of focusing your power as a "journalist" to raise awareness of the real issue which is the individual committing the crimes, you continue the failed narrative that it is the fault of the availability of something or the lack of laws restricting people from doing something you deem they should not being doing. I could live with the discussion of the right way of handling things but it is clear to me Mr Haas, that you or the tennessean have no interest in an objective discussion. During the guns in restaurants debates you guys drove up the hyperbole and painted a horribly biased picture filled with conjecture and stereotypes and very little in facts when it came to the intent of the restaurant law which was to allow Permit Owners the ability to carry in more places, safely. Instead you glanced over the facts that permit holders account for less than a half of a percent of all gun crimes and almost half of guns crimes are self inflicted. The fact you come here gives me hope you actually want a discussion but time after time and write up after write up you prove that facts don't count, only narrative. If that is not the case then your editors are screwing your ability to be an objective journalist
  14. The real issue that he should keep alive and highlight is the ignorance of the progressive anti constitutional attacks from his paper and the minority mindset they seem to carry the torch for
  15. Well I seem to remember a lot of people taking up for Brian a few weeks ago and I seem to remember telling folks that working for the tennessean trumps common sense
  16. TN gun laws, or lack thereof, under attack
  17. I hope everyone realizes that winning the white house is just 1/3 of the battle. we must take back congress enough to pass meaningful laws that will pull us back to the constitution and appoint judges that will advocate for the constitution and not via a progressive agenda. I am pulling for Newt I think but I will be happy to vote for any of the guys left in order to get the guy out of office we have now
  18. Newt is going to be our candidate. Newt has his issues but he is the only one who is fighting the liberal establishment and is whiling to take on the media. Santorum is a fine conservative but he acts like a whiny little girl. Plus, he is more of a social conservative which IS not going to win in this election. Mitt is is a great business leader and a true success but he has no principles for governing. I do like Paul but he is not a president, he is a policy maker and needs a place in the administration of who ever is in office. Newt will destroy obama if they debate and will set the agenda that will help get a republican majority in congress

  20. yes Handgun Carry Permit Reciprocity Information
  21. you know what, my friend had an old Mitsubishi and it was the best 4x4 I have ever seen. He took it to heck and back 2 times and the thing kept going. I did have a cherokee and the thing was a POS. quite frankly, at 4k I would find something that has a lot of age that might have been rebuilt to the point it has enough new parts to be worth 4k. I would love to buy a early 90's ford or a mid /late 80s ford. easy to get parts and pretty much a rock
  22. you can buy a gun without a permit, you simply can not carry without a permit.

  24. The solution is to only vote for people who will protect your freedoms, not by judging who is electable.
