was talking with a college student this weekend and he was talking about the CO movie disaster. when we talked about had a gun owner been allowed to carry into the theatre the massicre could have been reduced or avoided and he sad it would have made it worse. I aked him how? 70 people where shot, what if a gun owner was able to fire back or at least divert his attention long enough for someone to take him down? at the end of they day, you can not discuss the topic of guns with people who do not want to reason.

got my ticket earlier this week. is the opry 21 posted carry? I am assuming -
which is exactly why I am so critical of the media. hold the media accountable with twisting of the truth, set people straight with facts and stop letting people from the media come over here and take you all for granted

well a sure fire way for gun the control debate to keep gaining speed is allow the media and the lefttards to keep advancing the narrative that guns are the problem. every time someone from the tennessean would come over here trying to play nice only to take a huge dump on us all when their words hit print everyone kept talking about how it could be worse. I was called out by being critical of the Tennessean on this board. The gun control narrative starts local. we need to change the narrative from restrictive ideals to individual responsibility which is the key to most every social and economic issue we are facing. So the next time some writer from the TN comes over with their hand out, just know the hand is there to slap you because the tennessean or any other newspaper are not interested in reporting realities, they are there to advance their agenda. So hold the papers accountable by not buying their crap, don't even read their online garbage or post on their comments sections. they get just as much money to rile you all up by posting misguided articles only meant to draw you in like a bug to bug zapper. Most people who do not like firearms have never shot one. I say the first thing you should do when engaging someone who is anti gun is ask if they have ever shot one. if not then offer them to meet you at the range and let them fire yours. teach them how to handle it, secure it and fire it. the idea that is running around in some people's head is that firearms are a volatile object and if you don't hold it right it will go off and start killing people without warning i bet 75% of the time, you get someone to the range and ease them into firing something they will dig it and their attitude will change. when one person actually observes the reality of gun owners then they are then "armed" with knowledge for when they are in a discussion with other gun haters. My wife did not understand the need for the guns in parking lots bill and was against it until she realized I could not even keep my firearm in my car at work and then she realized the issue. most people just do not understand and when you don't understand you are weary of the issue. Educate and use methods to educate.

Was reading that somewhere up north, some 24 year old kid did not want to work on a particular day so he set fire to his workplace and cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Long story short there is something wrong with the kids today in which consequences are not in their vocabulary

Just talked with a friend and fellow HCP and said I will not break the law, I will simply refuse to spend my money with any one who wants to be a weenie. I also said I will hold any of fellow HCP brethren if they think they are rigt to do something they shouldnt just because thy think they should be able to do something just because thy see some grey area. So many options out there, spend your money on those who are not taking you for granted -
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/07/22/massacre-suspect-james-holmes-gun-range-application-drew-red-flag-for-owner/ so the owner of a local CO gun range raised red flags and through the gun owner's proper policy and intuition he saved his gun club from massive public outcry. This stuff again raises the importance of proper gun ownership and accountability of fellow gun owners

Normally it is one side trying to pin it on the other without facts. Not sure who on the right is politicizing this. -

people, the only way to make this crap stop is to stop using the products. I am guilty because I was an early google adopter so it is ingrained in me to use google but i a to the point that I will start going other places.. these big companies will not miss you but the smaller companies will appreciate your business -

guns for ameri there is a indoor range off of highway 96 across from the ford dealership. 15 bucks for range fees but it is nice. it is called useltons, also I think they require you buy their ammo which unless they changed, kinda stinks

build the darned guns and stop shooting at tea sets that explode. You don't build cars and run them through a brick wall. the problem is we are the minority who want to watch the building of a firearm. the majority want all the drama

Well that won't fly. Unless you are a HCP I think you can only transports from a to b, not intended to stay in your vehicles

well this weekend is my wife and mine 12th anniversary. She is not a gun person but I talked her into going to the range with me tomorrow. going to start her off with a 22 LR. fun, no kick and something to get started with. then going to run through a couple of handguns just to get her a taste. Been buttering her up for a 223 and she just does not understand why you need one, hopefully after this weekend she will

sure to ignite the guns in parks debate
1pointofview replied to 1pointofview's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
to the average person who does not wet themselves at the very thought of a firearm, you are correct. but to the bed wetters who have created a big enough stink to post parks in the first place this is very relevant. If the guy was a HCP people will use it as an example as to why we should not carry guns in a park even with a permit. pinkerton is a posted park -

Open carry triggers business to post gun buster.
1pointofview replied to Tncobra's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
robert I agree with the premise of simply not going to a business who chooses to post their property. though I believe posting legal permit holders is the same thing as telling someone they are not welcome because of color or nationality. but I went to the cool springs mall last week for the first time in over a year. got to the door, saw the posting and walked back to the car to put my firearm back. when I got home I sent an email letting their management company that my family will no longer go to this mall because posting legal permit holders is so counter productive. the same people who will carry illegally are the ones who will take advantage of those who will adhere to the sign. No one carries for protection are looking to use it, we carry FOR PROTECTION from those who want to do harm. THere has been an increase of violent crime in the cool springs area and the mall is a prime place for criminals to take advantage of the defenseless. THere is nothing in the mall that I need I can not get elsewhere.. -

well handgun carrier is a protected class but society has chosen to suppress those civil rights. So in the debate of property rights vs personal rights, in one breath If you can be sued for discrimination if you don't hire a women, a person of color or a person of sexual preference I just do not see how keeping someone from their second amendment rights with the second breath -

I am sure this has been talked about but not going to read 6 pages worth of stuff. I believe in property rights but lets look at it based on current laws/ society norms. In society today, can I put up a store front and say "whites only", "No Blacks" or "Blacks sit in the Back"? My question is this, if I in today's society you can not turn someone away because of race or nationality why is it that you can keep someone out of your establishment based on the fact you are carrying a legally obtained fire arm while carrying a legally obtained permit to exercise constitutionally guaranteed right? -
North Carolina votes for marriage ammendment.
1pointofview replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
funny how the left is all about democracy until it goes against what they want and then they change the rules. here is the deal, marraig imo is a between a man and a woman. I believe being gay is not natural but I have my own sin to worry about so I do not care if you chose to be gay or not. i like many others have gay friends, work with people who are gay and do not think of them any less of a person because I accept them as an individual. with all that that said I believe the only reason homosexuals want gay marriage is purely out of main stream acceptance. But i feel marriage is a religious sacrament so I can not approve of gay marriage. now if you want to have something called civil unions or what ever else you want to call it then I am fine with that. but at the end of the day, it is the government's control over the process that also has to change. but it will not change until we take all the tax implications out of the equation. We need to flatten the tax code so you pay the same taxes regardless of how many kids you have or how much money you make.
