  1. Or to redirect it so the flow goes outside for the lawn, car washing, etc. w00t! Free water!
  2. I'm guessing well pump. It looks like the pipe coming through the outside block wall is the supply line. The horizontal line moves water from the pump to the tank, The vertical line from the tank feeds water up to the house. The veritcal pipe on the left looks like an electrical conduit to power the pump. Another option is "hot water heater" either for hot water use or for a radiator system, but I don't see how that device on the left has any heating element.
  3. We're paying them with their money, so why not?
  4. None of the department stores are posted. None of the entrances from the department stores to the mall are posted. I don't read anywhere in the TCA that indicates a parking lot posting would be legal, just entrances to buildings and attached patios. Am I missing something regarding parking lots?
  5. #3 should be "They stay and talk about how much better things are back up norf"
  6. It's hard to find a chrome place that's good AND close. Go for good over close. Chrome Wizard over near the fairgrounds does decorative chrome. I don't know about hard chrome. My dad had some stuff done by them for a 1954 'Vette, but none of it was very good. He ended up shipping it out to some place in Texas or California to get it done right. I've heard good things about Tri City up in Elizabethon, TN and their decorative chrome work. I've personally never seen any of their work, but I've seen generally positive reviews on car sites about it. Hard chrome is a different process than decorative chrome, so you'd have to call and see if they do it. Tricityplating.com - Show quality triple chrome plating with a Lifetime Warranty on all bumpers.
  7. 1 - The roll-down cover. I know those things are tough, but not like the rest of the concrete coverings. 2 - There are some trees close to the house. We don't know if the roof is reinforced in any way or not. Still, I think it's a cool house. Beutiful location too.
  8. Downtown Franklin. Some good restaurants there. +1 to CHMR
  9. That's not a bad idea at all. I may go for this approach. I'm planning on running a tri-fuel genny connected mostly to the natural gas line, but then I could run on propane or gasoline if needed. After the flood, the gas was only cut off when they came to swap out the meter.
  10. True. In the end, for me, it's all about 2 things: safety and insurance. It's not going to cost me a LOT to have it done vs. DIY, and it could end up saving me the cost of the house in an insurance claim.
  11. That's nothing. We got some new tenants on a different floor of our office building a few years ago. One of my bed-wetting co-workers called the cops reporting a man with a rifle case going into the building. Our new neighbors are general contractors. That was a blue print tube....
  12. 4. You do it right then your house floods again and the codes guys are going to find it and it isn't on prior permits.
  13. And being made from meteorite, you can stab Superman with it, you know, if he's ever turned into a zombie. Beautiful knife.
  14. I think he meant in Nashville. Cowboy hats in the city are usually reserved for (a) people going to Fan Fair or ( people who perform at Fan Fair. But there's always an exception or two. You'll always see more downtown around the honky-tonks.
  15. I was hoping for the full 20-25. Oh well. I'll take 13 over 0 any day.
  16. What, you don't like Uselton's?
  17. I've lived all around the world and choose to make Nashville my home. I've lived in Tucson before and am familiar with Phoenix. The main differences will be in the following areas: Weather We get all 4 seasons. +1 to the humidity. 110 in the desert is hot, even if it is dry. 85 here with 90% humidity is just as taxing on your system. Snow won't be a problem for you. Just telecommute those 2-5 days each year where there's snow/ice on the roads. But you have to participate in the Kroger run. Kroger is a grocery store here (or to real sotherners, it's Krogers even though there's no S in the name). When the forecast says anything at all about snow, you have to go buy milk and bread, even if you don't need any. It's state law. Driving In Nashville, we use our Interstates. A lot. Phoenix and Tucson use a nice grid system where you can use surface streets more. Nashville is basically laid out like a wagon wheel that someone beat with a sledgehammer. Our hills prevent a real grid system outside of the downtown area. Some streets change names for no apparent reason. Old Hickory Blvd (known locally as OHB) is actually made up of about 3 or more different roads that sort of connect together if you can drive through a lake. So you and I can both be on OHB, but on opposite sides of town. We have lots of hills. Not the little steep ones like the foothills that take your stomach when you drive them. Bigger than that. Mostly it just means that you can't see more than a mile down the road to see what traffic's doing up ahead. Commuting here is easier than Phoenix. We're much lower on the gridlock scale. Be sure to let us know when you make the move. We can use that as a good reason to get a TGO meet going at a local range.
  18. I call BS on this. They're under 21 so they couldn't have purchased a handgun. And I'm pretty sure Silverado's is posted, so they couldn't have taken the guns in there even if they did have these phantom under-21 guns.
  19. Food Merridee's in Franklin is good food. HRH Dumplins is too. Both are close to the square. +1 for Fat Mo's burgers. Good burger, huge servings, great prices. I love to see when a legal immigrant comes here, works hard, and creates a succesful business. Things to Do Franklin has the Carter House and Carnton Plantation if you're interested in the Civil War battle of Franklin. I've heard the Franklin ghost walks are decent enough. Not New Orleans or Charleston, but not bad. The Predator's are in the NHL playoffs, if you can score some tickets. You could head out of Franklin west on Hwy96 then north on the Natchez Trace Pkwy until it ends. A great drive and The Loveless Cafe is there with yummy still-made-from-lard biscuits waiting for you. It shouldn't take more than about 20 minutes to make that drive each way.
  20. The same reason there were only 6 episodes.... budget. The 1st season was a feeler by AMC to see if there was a market for the show without spending too much money on it. Season 2 is reported to be a full season, which normally means between 20 and 25 episodes.
  21. Красная Армия принимает Берлине
