  1. I tried saving it to my computer an zooming in on the image, but it was to distorted to make out much of anything.
  2. Don't know much about powder coating, even less about powder coating for bullets.  But one of the older ways of powder coating is to heat the part and tumble it in the powder.  Apparently it adheres well in powder form to the heated material.  Dont know if this would be feasible for powder coating bullets or not, but it may make for a simpler process (not that this is seriously complicated).
  3. 4700 on first try,  5100 after i stopped caring about the hostages
  4.   The key to what i was saying was for public consumption.  Yes they have to release all their evidence to the defense, but neither have to release anything to the public.
  5. DaveS,  I just read the transcripts again in case my memory was a little foggy, but im not seeing it jump out at me.  If you could please post where it jumps out at you.  It may help me understand your position a little better.
  6. I think the profiling really comes in to play in this case because the state has to prove a depraved mind.  If they can prove he profiled TM then they are one step closer to that goal.  I still continue to think that Z is innocent.  I think it because i truly believe in assuming someone is innocent until there is enough evidence of their guilt.  To date no evidence has really been provided that would counter Zimmerman's claims of self defense.    Obviously the state has not released all of its evidence for public consumption, so i am completely willing to change my opinion as the trial goes along.
  7. I have a general question, more towards admitting the texts at trial.   Since the prosecutor has already brought up profiling TM and it is likely to be part of arguments in court, shouldn't the defense be allowed to show an accurate portrayal of TM so that the jury can decide for themselves whether Z-man was actually 1.  Profiling, and 2 if he was accurate in his assumptions that TM was likely up to no good.       the prosecutor has to prove Z acted with a depraved mind to get to murder 2 was Zimmerman acting with a depraved mind if TM actually appeared to be up to no good.
  8. There surprisingly good little knives especially for their price.
  9. Had a M&P 15 that i ended up selling.  Still have a 15-22,  A M&P 9, M&P 9 Pro, M&P 9 Shield, oh and a S&W M&P Pocket Knife.  I freely admit that i am a fanboy
  10. http://www.duffelblog.com/2012/12/marines-go-on-killing-spree-in-blue-on-red-attack/   From the duffelblog.  I thought this one was to funny not to pass on.  I know some of the Marines on this forum will get a kick out of it.
  11. Well the jury selection looks good for Zimmerman.  When was the last time youve heard of 6 women locked in a room together agreeing on anything.  :)   Sorry couldnt help myself.
  12. Like i said before I'm a MP.  Never said i wanted to be Infantry, just that i lived with them and patrolled with them and we carried the same weight.
  13. There used to be some really good little beaver ponds on Campbell that had some great fishing.  Unfortunately most of them have dried up over the last several years
  14. Had the same problem out at cross creeks on Sunday.  Did catch a dozen decent sized blue gill along with a few small fellas and a few of the worlds smallest striped bass .  Highlight of the trip was watching a little spotted fawn swim across the water.  Don't get to see that everyday and the wife got to see her first live copperhead.
  15. One of several female recipients of the Distinguished Service Cross   Hall, Virginia Civilian, Office of Strategic Services World War II Synopsis: For extraordinary heroism in action as a civilian intelligence officer with the Office of Strategic Services. With utter disregard for her safety and continually at the risk of capture, torture, and death, she directed the Resistance Forces with extraordinary success in acts of sabotage and guerrilla warfare against enemy troops, installations and communications. Miss Hall displayed rare courage, perseverance and ingenuity; her efforts contributed materially to the successful operations of the Resistance Forces in support of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in the liberation of France.     I am not saying that the standards should be lowered, just that there are females out there that can meet the standards as they are now.  Those women who choose to do so should be given every opportunity to succeed based on the standard necessary to successfully perform the job without regards to gender.    Obviously not every woman will be able to meet the physical demands of combat arms jobs just like not every male can.  That doesn't mean that every woman should be disqualified from these positions.
  16.   Things have changed a lot since the 90's.  Before calling something nonsense perhaps it would be wise to research the subject yourself. I can tell you from  my personal experience that my female Soldiers were carrying the same weight and doing the same patrols that male 11 series were doing.  I can tell you this because we were doing them together.   Yes for the annual APFT women have a lower standard as far as number of repetitions.  They do however have to use the same form.  And i was speaking specifically towards one school which does not use the regular APFT as their standard.  It is regularly accepted that Sapper school is one of the most physically demanding courses in the Army.  They have one standard for all students regardless of age and gender,  many army schools are this way.  Those standards have not been lowered to make it easier on females in the Army.  I see no reason why the same wouldn't be true for things like selection or Infantry AIT.    Army and Marine Special Operations Forces have alrady been deploying females right along side their male warfighters in the capacity of female engagement teams.
  17. Well since there are no longer any front lines in warfare the majority of this discussion is already moot.  Its called asymmetric warfare and women are already fighting in it just like men. I spent 10 years active as a MP in the Army.  It was the closest females in the Army could get to "Combat Arms" I've humped the same gear as infantry and so have my female Soldiers.  Ive had men and women who couldn't hack it.  Gender had very little to do with it.   They lived in shitty conditions including when it was that time of the month without any problems a good bit of the time doing missions side by side with Infantry units including one of my deployments were we worked directy with a marine infantry battalion.     For those who still think women cant hack it take a look at the success the Army's Sapper school.  Fully a third of the women who have attended have passed the course and guess what the school didnt change their standards to make it happen.  They passed all on their own merits.    Someone please tell me one of those women isnt able to handle the physical demands of the infantry.
  18. Im not sure if your posting to comment about it, or if your posting it here because that is your craigslist for sale ad.    If it is the latter please be aware that to post items for sale on this site you must be a benefactor.
  19. I think its interesting.  Just from a logical prospective for you to believe this is effective you would have to acknowledge their religion as correct in this matter.  If you believe one of the other major religions than it doesn't matter what you coat your bullets with there going to a not so happy place anyways.  If you don't believe in any religion than the entire exercise is pointless.
  20. dont worry about it this thread needed a good sidetracking
  21. So my Birthday falls on fathers day this year so for it were doing another family fishing trip.  I'm trying to find a decent spot to do some bank fishing not to far from Clarksville.  Willing to drive around an hour or so.    My biggest concern is access and a clear enough area nearby that i can put the pack and play for the 8 month old.  Thinking about maybe the cross creeks area but haven't been there before.  I don't want to get stuck going all that way and have to take all day to find a place that gives me enough level ground to set up for the family.      The ype of fish in the area doesnt necessarily matter as long as theres fish there.  But im partial to catfish and good bluegill fishing.    Love me some bluegill   Steamplant's out just due to space limitations.
  22. In the media the 911 call hurt him, that's not because of the call itself but by the editing done by the media.  I think at the trial the 911 call will most likely help him.     If i found myself in a similar situation i know i would call, but i would also stay on the line with the 911 center until police got there, if he would have done that we'd have a much clearer understanding of the whole altercation.  Before this incident i think i would have most likely called but not stay on the line much like Z did.
  23. I would avoid mounting a MBUS directly on the gas block for two reasons,  one is you have to make sure you get the right height so that the sights are on the same plane. second and probably more important is that its a polymer sight and you would be mounting it to a high heat part.  The potential for melting the sight exists.         Also depending on the barrel you get your gonna probably want some form of flash suppressor/mussel brake.
  24. but if that was his intent all along, why bother calling the cops.  It seems to me if it was his intent to hunt TM down and kill him in cold blood the last thing in the world he would do is call the cops before hand.
  25. In Florida the Polygraph can be admitted as evidence, but in order to do so both the prosecution and the defense have to agree to allow it.  Since it does nothing to benefit the prosecution then you can pretty much guarantee that it will never be admitted.
