  1. Yes it was rhetorical. I know what they want. I understand where everyone is coming from. Yes, Obamacare sucks, and increasing the length of unemployment insurance further isn't very wise. There's not much we can do about either one of those right now. So, as I said earlier, it isn't perfect and I will take what I can get.
  2. True, but we could have had both. With the jerks in congress, senate, and the white house right now, I will take what I can get. Things can always improve after Pelosi Galore is removed from the throne.
  3. How is the expo show compared to the one at Chilhowe? I drove up to that one back in November.
  4. Very nice. Maybe one day I might be able to do that as well. Still too imtidated to try.
  5. Well, it looks like a deal is going to be struck in which the Bush-era tax cuts will be kept in place. While the deal isn't perfect (far from it to be truthful), I am glad that they will not increase taxes next year. The thing that really irks me is all the leftists now have the red-ass with Obama because he is compromising. They are now talking about primarying him. I can't stand Obama, but geeze louise how much do these people want? Do they want to take my entire paycheck and have me obsequiously go to them and say, "Please sir, may I have some more."?

    Dear Santa,

That is great. I am gonna have to show that to everyone at work tomorrow.
  7. Well, I posted in the other thread that my "go to" gun would be my G34 mainly because I know it will go bang everytime I squeeze the trigger. I bought the G34 because it was inexpensive, 9mm ammo is cheaper, and if I put a scratch or scuffed it up it is no big deal. Outside of my Ruger Mark III Hunter, it is the handgun that I shoot the most. I have put a little over 2k rounds in the 4-5 months I have owned it without the first problem, so I know it is reliable. However, I do not carry it because it is my least accurate handgun and the ergonomics stink. So, I guess giving it more thought (mainly from the accuracy standpoint), I would have to say my "go to" gun would have to be one of my 1911s like my Nighthawk T3, which is my EDC. Althought they haven't been shot as much as my G34, I haven't had the first problem with any of my 1911s either. However, I would be totally ticked if I scratched one of them up. Then again, as I am thinking about this more while I am typing I keep running into conflicting viewpoints as to which is better. Therefore, I guess my final stance will be that any of my handguns, outside of the Ruger, would be my "go to" gun.
  8. I should have my Springfield Professional in sometime next year. It will be my EDC, and based on all the stinkin' testing it went through to land the FBI contract, it will be my "go to" gun as well.
  9. It appears that I have developed a glitch in my shooting that I am now shooting slightly left from poa on all of my handguns. I had posted a thread asking about using a laser as a diagnostic tool to perhaps show what I am doing. Based upon the responses I got, it seems that it wasn't a very good idea. I was wondering if you developed a smooth and consistent trigger squeeze on a gun with a much heavier trigger pull, would it mean increased smoothness and accuracy on a gun with a lighter trigger? I own one da/sa handgun (FNP-45). I worked with it yesterday for about an hour in da only. After I was finished I picked up my G34 with a Vanek trigger and it seemed like I could just blow on the trigger and it would fire. Any advice or comments? Thanks.
  10. The following sharpener was recommended to someone on another thread, Apex 4 kit. I have yet to purchase one. The person who recommended the sharpener is a knife aficionado, so I would say that it is definitely top quality.
  11. I saw your post almost a month ago. I am not all that familiar with ZT knives, but I thought your knife was really cool and looks very well made. I have been looking to replace my Benchmade Presidio edc for quite some time due to absolutely destroying it. I have been to a couple of gun shows looking for one, but everyone wanted almost full retail for one. Maybe its just me, but gun show prices always seem to be high. While still expensive, I found one at what seemed to be a fairly decent deal so I ended up getting the ZT 300. I like the all black version. I hope it will be a good one. Thanks for posting.
  12. How does deer jerky compare to beef jerky? Taste about the same?
  13. Boy, from what I have read it seems like almost everyones go to gun is a Glock.
  14. What about the Mid-South food bank in Memphis? It might not be what you want considering a small portion of their food goes to north Mississippi and east Arkansas. The vast majority goes to TN. Iknow our food bank does a great job. I like the Chambliss House as well. Bethel is also good. I haven't mentioned some charities because I know they are faith-based and not everyone may like that.
  15. First off, if possible, I would try to hold it till I got back home, If that isn't possible and I am forced to evacuate my bowels, the last thing on my mind is my handgun and setting up a tactical position. I am thinking, "Hurry up and and don't touch anything." I guess I'm just a sissy and would be an easy target in a public bathroom.
  16. I don't think anyone would think you are unfair with your decisions. I am still impressed with your administrating of this endeavor. Giving money is one thing. A few clicks of the mouse and a whopping whole minute of my time to send money is easy and doesn't really amount to all that much. If it wasn't for caring and compassionate people as yourself and others here to take their time to initiate and manage these type of charities, the world wold be a lesser place. So in short, thanks. As far as the distribution of the remaining funds, I do not have any preference outside of one. I hope that whatever charity(ies) receive the money they are ones in which the bulk of the donation goes to those they claim to help not being eaten up in administrative expenses.
  17. As far as a "go to" gun, I would have to say my preference would be to my cheapest handgun, my Glock 34. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I hate it because it doesn't fit my hand worth a crap and it is my least accurate handgun. While I haven't had the first problem with any of my handguns, I love my 34 because I completely trust that it will go bang when I pull the trigger. My favorite handgun just in general would be my Ruger Mark III Hunter. Why? It is just plain ol' fun to shoot.
  18. Nice. Looks like they are really good quality.
  19. +1 on Avast. I used McAfee for the longest while Comcast was providing it for free. When they switched to Norton, I switched as well. I went with Avast cause Norton imho stinks. Avast is great. I haven't had any problems with it.
  20. Yes. I was working with my instructor last night trying to figure out what I am doing. Neither one of us could figure it out. The strangest thing is this is a recent problem. It almost feels like golfing when I have found a case of the hooks.
  21. Hey folks. Has anyone ever used a laser to diagnose a problem with your shooting? I have noticed that a lot of my shots are about an inch left ( 7-9 o'clock position) of poa. While it isn't a huge difference, it is really starting to bother me. I could adjust my sights on my handgun, but I am slightly left on all of my handguns. Its not the gun. It is something I am doing. I have studied the shooting wheel and tried all different kinds of things to fix the problem, but I have been unsuccessful. I was wondering if using a laser and a lot of dry firing could show me what I might be doing? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
  22. I would have to say my most embarrassing moment happened one day while I was at the gym. It was leg day and the gym was very crowded. I hate it when the gym is crowded, but the nice thing about the crowd that day was all of the gorgeous women around. Normally you don't see a lot of hot women in the gym at one particular time, but I guess that day was special. Anyway, I start out doing leg extensions to warm up for a day of heavy lifting. So far so good. The next exercise was leg presses. I blow through my first three sets increasing the weight with each set with no problem. On my fourth set, I really load up the weight to where I would have to really push it to get out 8-10 reps. The first couple of reps weren't terrible but I had to keep pushing harder and harder with each rep. On the seventh rep I was about shot and as I was grunting and pushing with all my might to complete the rep something happened. As I was struggling with the weight I let out the loudest and longest fart that has ever come from my bowels. It was like someone shoved an air hose up my butt and inflated to 50 psi. After that seventh rep I locked up the weights. I looked around and noticed some people looking in my general direction and I heard a few snickers. I grabbed my towel, did not re-rack my weights (which I always do) and immediately proceeded out the gym with my head hanging in shame. I didn't return until three days later. I have yet to this day been able to produce a fart of such ground shaking intensity. I have come to believe that this must have been a cosmic prank intended to embarrass the ever-lovin' sh*t out of me. On the positive side, I guess I can be thankful that there was nothing in my bowels cause that would have added a whole other layer of embarrassment which would have led me to never return.
  23. The only complaint I have had against mine was the screws holding the belt clamp kept coming out. It was rather frustrating for a time, but it was nothing a little bit of loc-tite couldn't solve.
