  1. That's really cool. A little bit pricey though.
  2. Looks pretty good. I couldn't find anything on IMDB about it. I am wondering what the remake of Red Dawn will be like. I know they finished it, but who know when it will be released.
  3. I was using my Motorola Android with some of the Motorola Rokr S9 bluetooth headphones. Now that we have switched over to AT&T at work, I am using my Blackberry Torch with the above headphones. Its not great, but it does what I want it to as far as a mp3 player goes.
  4. I am sorry you had a bad experience with Shooter's. I know all three of our local gun dealers (Shooter's, Carter's, and Sportsman's Supply), and I am a member at all of their ranges. I deal with Chris and the rest of the guys at Shooters regularly. They are always very helpful and will be more than willing to order whatever it is you need. Ray Carter and Carl are the same way. Does Shooter's have very much in stock? No, but neither does Ray or Carl. Speaking in regards towards Shooter's, I wish a lot of people would realize that this is a new business. Unless you are backed by a ton of money initially, there is no way you can afford to take on a huge inventory of merchandise to satisfy every customer. If they did bring in the merchandise, there is no guarantee that they will sell it. They are competeing with the big box stores, Academy, Sportman's Warehouse, and the thousands of online retailers. I talk frequently to Ray Carter about this very thing, and it is tough for them. I was talking to John (Shooter's) the other day and he was telling me about becoming a new dealer for Beretta. During that conversation, he mentioned about wanting to carry CZ, but could not afford to initally purchase $30k worth of CZ merchandise to become a dealer. He said he doesn't believe he can move that much merchandise in the area. The same thing was said about Kimber. I happened to have agreed with him on both points. If Shooter's is successfull, which I hope they will be, I believe that they will expand their product line. Time will tell. In regards to Carters, I like Ray and Billy. They are good guys and will do you right.
  5. Well, I went to the range today to shoot my new rifle. I bought 5 boxes of some PMC ammo from the dealer and mosyed on out to the range. I didn't put the target out very far (about 12 yards) so I could get a feel of how it shoots and what the recoil is like. I had no idea what to expect since I have never shot a rifle outside of an old Marlin .22 about 20 plus years ago. The trigger pulls is heavier than what I am used to, but it didn't have any creep to it. I was surprised at the recoil. It was pretty much nonexsistent. As far as accuracy goes, the rifle is more accurate than I am at this point. I was shooting about 2 - 2.5 inch groups, which is pretty crappy for an ar at 12 yards. As of right now, I am more accurate with my handguns than my rifle. I know that will change the more I shoot it. One thing I did notice was my support shoulder was getting very tired rather quickly. Sort of made me feel like a pansy considering I am in fairly good shape. I workout with heavy weights 5 days a week. It could be the way I am holding it, how much pressure I am applying, or from just doing something new. I look foward to shooting it more. It looks like this is going to be a fun gun to shoot.
  6. What all goes on at a NRA convention? Do they have vendors showing the latest goods etc...?
  7. Well, I see this thread is being pushed down the thread list due to all the drama postings. I would like to push it back up to the top of the list with this posting and increasing my initial donation. I have made several posts on this forum showing some of the firearms I have bought this year. While I worked hard to earn the money that was used to pay for those firearms, they were totally unnecessary. I have been thinking about some of those who perhaps have looked at some of my threads and they may be someone who has lost their job or were given an expensive medical bill etc... If I can spend a bunch of money on firearms then I should be able to help those who are less fortunate or have endured a hardship. I am thankful for what I have and for my good health. I pray that those blessings continue. By the way JPS, your wife has nice legs (nice gun too).
  8. 1 hour? You need to get in better shape.

    Profiling

I have read through both threads. I have no idea what your intentions were. While I disagree with your position on profiling, I will give you the benefit of doubt that it wasn't your intention to smear fellow posters as potential terrorists. However, I think you wrote your words poorly. That leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

    Looking to buy an AR15

I don't understand. Why would you get "beat up" for such a claim? Heck, you fellas may be right. Building your own ar may be the best way to go. In my case, however, it wouldn't be. I am not very comfortable with rifles considering it is only this week that I got my first rifle. Perhaps as I get more familiar with my rifle I will do as you guys do, and build my own in the future. As of right now, I am happy with my purchase, and look foward to learning how to shoot the thing.
  11. I agree, although I don't understand what you mean by "what is left will be tribal."
  12. Marriage: The only war in which you actually sleep with the enemy.
  13. You ought to read all of them. As I stated in my earlier post, it is definitely not my normal reading material, but they are fantastic. The first two HP novels and movies are definitely geared towards kids. With each progressive novel, the theme becomes darker shifting it more to a teenager audience. The last two novels in the series are very dark and IMHO definitely not for young kids. That is one thing I have to give JK Rowling, she has written a series in which the writing style changes as the characters grow in age. I am amazed at the talent it takes for such an undertaking.

    Looking to buy an AR15

You can buy one like I bought. A LWRC M6a2 d-dea. You can see pictures under my thread, "Finally bought my first rifle." I haven't got to shoot it yet, but from everything I have read it is supposed to be a top notch ar. I don't think the DEA would be using it if it was crap. The downside is they are a little pricey.
  15. I here ya. That much of a HP fan I am not. I had never seen a Harry Potter movie until the fourth one came out. I watched it on tv and thought it was pretty good. I found a used copy of the Chamber of Secrets and decided to read it to see what all the fuss was about. I thought it was quite enjoyable, so I went and bought all of them. It is not my normal reading material, but I found them highly entertaining. By the way, what does "....." mean? I have seen that posted several times.
  16. The new Harry Potter movie is coming out Friday. Anyone planning on going this weekend or taking their kids? Being a Harry Potter fan, I will probably go this weekend to see it. After reading some of the reviews on IMDB, it sounds promising. I hope it is better than the Half-Blood Prince. It was good, but I thought they savaged the novel with that one. Out of all the movies thus far, I would rank them from best to worst: Prisoner of Azkaban Goblet of Fire Order of the Phoenix The Sorcerer's Stone Chamber of Secrets The Half Blood Prince.
  17. Oh, I just now noticed there was a gun in the picture as well.
  18. Geeze Louise, some of these threads explode after a controversial comment(s) is made. Back when I made my post, I thought this thread was gonna be very short.
  19. Are those your only two choices? If not, I would recommend a Wilson CQB. It is the best shooting 1911 I have owned or shot.

    Christmas list

Nothing on my list. Just look foward to taking some time off from work and spending it with family. I tell everyone not to buy me anything and save their money or spend it on someone else. A simple "Merry Christmas" is sufficient for me.
  21. I agree somewhat, except I think it is backfiring. People are no longer scared. Now, they are getting pissed off with all the nanny-statism. While I know it would never fly in this country due to all the P.C. crap, it seems like Israel does a pretty good job at their airports with profiling. I wouldn't mind the groping if it was a beautiful woman doing it. Heck, if she looked good enough, I might even pay extra.
  22. Sorry if pics aren't that good. I took them with my phone. It is the only camera I have.
