  3. A little off-topic but...you haven't been watching the legislature in Nashville have you? I say that because there is a bill that would remove the requirement that gun dealers take your thumbprint. One of the reasons stated was because in the nearly 2 million plus transactions since it went to effect a copy of a thumbprint has only been asked for ONCE, and then it was taken so badly it was unable to be used. So I really wouldn't be worried about a thumbprint on used brass being used to identify someone.
  4. It might be better for him to do it. But again I think it might be better to let any orders to stay away from you, your parents or your property to come from the judge in any criminal case against her. A lot of the depends on what your end goal is. If it is to "punish" her for the damage done to the vehicle, I revert back to my criminal case scenario. If it is for her to just leave your and yours alone, I doubt any piece of paper is really going to fix that. All the RO and/or OP can do is get her into legal trouble if she violates it...well surely she knew damaging your vehicle could have legal consequences and that didn't stop her.
  5. I agree the thread has gone off topic, but in all honesty, JeepMonkey was only responding to questions/comments about the situation. He did not include any details, etc... in his first post. But Mr. Stegall has a good point...post need to be kept on topic. Otherwise off-topic post may be removed and/or the thread closed.
  6. Actually....I think any helpful answers the OP is going to receive have already been made and it is time for this thread to be flushed.
  7. Hope you can get it all taken care of without too much trouble..or more damage... True enough. I guess I just meant more in the case of actually keeping someone away from you because of the fear of any consequences...at least immediate consequences.
  8. In all honesty Restraining Orders are not worth the paper they are written on. Did you file any criminal charges on her for the damage to your car? If so the judge could order her to stay away from you as part of the sentence on that charge. But even with that, like restraining order, is he violates it...she has simply violated a court order and would have to go before the judge again for what, if any, punishment she would get for violating it. Now if a person violates an Order of Protection, they can be arrested on the spot. Not sure if you would be able to get one on her for this or not, trouble would be is she follow suit by getting one on you.

  11. I always check Handgunlaw.us when traveling to another state. There are actually very few state restrictions on carry in AL. Local sheriffs issue the permits and they can place restrictions on the permits they issue, but that does not effect permits issued by other sheriff's or from other states.
  12. You should be fine. If for some reason it is denied, you can appeal the decision, as long as you have all the proper documentation there shouldn't be a problem.
  13. OS catching my slack again...thanks bro...
  14. Kinfe laws are in the same place as Firearm laws in the T.C.A. Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13. You can search T.C.A. here I left out parts of 39-17-1302 and tried to post only the areas dealing with knives. You can also read the text of the case that says "butterfly" knives are not switchblade knives here
  15. Boy...everyone is so helpful I would say your only two real options are, to either just unzip the fly or use the stall.

  17. If your weapon falls to the floor just because you leaned over...you deserve to be treated like a thug.... Also I don't see not informing as a sign of disrespect anymore than I think it is being cute.
  18. Welcome back
  19. See question 13 here
  20. You could check the weekly Legislative Record But it tell tells the action of the whole legilature and actions on every bill for tha week. I'm not really aware of any list that just shows bills have passed other than at the end of the year you can check the Public Chapter to see what all was signed.
  21. http://www.capitol.tn.gov/ For the record NO bills have been passed by the entire House or Senate right now all either still in comittee or waiting to be assigned to comittee.
  22. Welcome
  23. ....and that is a situation in which I would tell him as well. Big Rob glad to see that you also train your officers about dealing with HCP holders and carry laws. I think more LEOs are famillar with it over the years, but back when they were first being issued I don't think that was so much the case.
