  1. I think that is because there is no good answer. IMO they are not the same place, but they could just as easily be considered the same place in other's opinion. Of course your room itself would be ok. They only real question would be the "common" areas. I have never been to the Opryland Hotel, so I don't really know the layout. You can always call as Dave suggest, however they may tell you it against their policy period instead of giving you a direct answer.
  2. This has been discussed before. You may want to see http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1487 & http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12686
  3. The law says you can not carry "within the confines of building" that sells alcohol for onsite consumption. I've never been there, but I figure all of Dollywood is not in one building. But you are right that you could not legally carry inside of any structure where alcohol was being sold and consumed.
  4. Not sure who would teach it. Driver's Ed is not required by the state, many school systems don't have it. In my class I don't remember much of anything about interstates (granted it has been a while ago). But I have tried to pass on little things like this and other's to my children as they are learning to drive. Also as someone who has operated a patrol car in the past and has and still does a firetruck and ambulance....I have never really got much pleasure out of responding to an emergency call.
  5. Good clarification. But maybe he was just putting her in the same league of "not so great ex-government officials" as Lon Horiuchi. Seems like that whole Waco thing could have been handled a little better than it was....
  6. I'm sure you've already gone, but it would be illegal only if it is properly posted per 39-17-1359, however it could be against their rules/policy if so I'm sure you'd be told to leave with no refund if found out.
  7. Just to clarify, I was talking about the time frame when there were different drinking ages in different states in the US (but they were working on changing them all) and on bases within the US. I remember in TN when they changed the age from 18 to 19, then about a year later they changed it from 19 to 21, but said all those that were already 19 & 20 could continue to legally drink. I could see how it could be a little confusing for some bouncers/cashiers.
  8. I agree with all except I would rather just see 39-17-1311 done away with entirely. I also agree with this, but no way this could be accomplished anytime soon. Also with the amount of revenue that would be lost to the state...I just don't think it will ever happen. Well as of today we don't but the new legislature starting in Jan will have Republican majority in the house and hopefully they will elect a Republican speaker instead of Nafieh.
  9. I thought the price was a little high too until I saw it came with the Wii Fit, with that it is probably about right. I got the kids a Wii last year and they really love it. I admit, there are a few games I like myself. Can't really compare it to any other systems though. They used to have a PS2 and others before that. I offered a PS3 or Xbox 360 last year, but the Wii is what they chose. If you go with the Wii some of the first extras I would suggest is rechargeable batteries or a charger and battery combo for the Wii and at least one extra Remote and Nunchuk. None of this is required, but I think it helps.
  10. I think back in the late 80's/early 90's they may have. Back when the laws where changing all over the country. My brother was in the Navy at that time and it seems I remember him saying it was up to the base commander.

  13. I wonder how many people will know who Lon Horiuchi is? I admit I wouldn't have if it was not posted here. Many will just see it is from a fomer FBI agent. Does seem they would have picked someone with a little bit less of a cloud over them though. Maybe they didn't know either?...
  14. Of course if someone wanted what's inside that bad I don't think even having your own safe would help. You can't permanently mount it anywhere so they can cut the cable or whatever else of temporary means of securing it you used, take the whole safe and open later. But I admit, always been a little leery of hotel safes, hard to believe the staff doesn't have some way of opening them if they want to.

  17. Not sure about Tunica, but I've heard some casinos in Las Vegas will store (check) your weapon while you are inside. If for some reason you couldn't get a room with a safe, a Center-of-Mass safe may be a good option. If that isn't what you already have.

  21. I agree, that is why I said if you were to use another weapon while fighting for your carry weapon or if your carry weapon fired you'd probably be ok (nothing is for sure when it comes to a jury). But if you were able to fight him off, got total control of your weapon and he is now standing there unarmed, it might be a little bit different story.
