  1. It's been a while since I dispatched and entered things into NCIC, but I know what an insurance company paid a claim on a car, they notified the PD and if the car was recovered they notified the insurance company. So may work the same with a firearm.
  2. True, I guess what I mean is that the Federal government shouldn't have anything to do with it in the first place. Sellers should not need a Federal license to sell a product.
  3. When I got my permit it was still when the fingerprinted at the DOS as well and you had to make an appointment. The earliest you could make an appointment in Jackson was 2-3 months out. So I made an appointment at a station in West Nashville (nearly 200 mile round trip). Based on post here it sounds like the way it is done know is much simpler.
  4. Hopefully the words of respectful people actually patronizing the restaurant will mean more than disrespectful phone calls....
  5. I'd have to take time to check....but I want to say most of thestates that allow carry by 18 year olds are those states where OC without a permit is legal. Actually some states allow carry even by those under 18. As far as the sell of handguns to those under 21, that is not up to states. Talking about military service, TX is one state that in general restricts carry to those 21 and over, but does make exceptions for active duty military.... My main thing is, it should be to each state, then we can make the effort to make any changes to TN law that needs to be made. From OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost!
  6. Well I think OS's point is that in other states carry where alcohol is served may still be off-limits by law and place couldn't allow carry if they chose to. Or that in some states signs don't mean anything anyway. Also that this website was in response to a TN specific website and the point was to show those people that are large numbers of people that will not eat at a place that post....hopefully more than say they will eat a place that does.
  7. Being young doesn't make someone's statement wrong, being old doesn't make it right. Opinions are opinions regardless of the age of the person that makes them aren't fact from any age group. But everyone is entitled to their own. To blanketly make remarks of any group doesn't seem very wise either. So everyone needs to leave personal attacks (direct or indirect) out of these and discuss the issue(s) at hand. Thread drift is common and while at times it may be better to start a new thread it is not required and as long as there is good debate/discussion it can continue.
  8. You're probably right....but that is as it should be. As far as the beer.....first rounds on me when we can.
  9. Care to elaborate?.....
  10. Well Yes...But without being there it would seem he was trying to imply that without one in the chamber she would be legal, but with out a HCP even without one in the chamber could still land you in jail....
  11. Overall not a bad idea. But some places might just assume not make a statement one way or the other. Not sure if I'd list a place as "friendly" unless they asked to be listed and/or bought a sticker. Just my opinion...
  12. Is there anything to legally worry about....No. (Unlike some states) However IMO bad/improper concealment can attract more unwanted attention than OC.
  13. Yes, but I think his logic is flawed. He is basing it on a case where someone was convicted of posession at a school even though the signs required weren't posted. However all schools are off-limits period. But parks are legal by default and only off-limits if a resolution is passed, part of that same law that requires them to pass a resolution requires them to post signs. I'm not going to do like one ex-member, but if I go out of town and a park is not posted, I'm not going to call city hall or the court house to see if a resolution is passed. So if I was somehow still charged I would definetly fight it. Remember the AG's opinion is just that....it isn't law or a judical ruiling.
  14. ....and those signs are legal to carry past. Notice it says the "unlicensed" carry.
  15. Not really.... I mean it should be included in replacement cost when figured on by the insurance company or by the judge of restitution. But tax doesn't increase the actual value of an item.
  16. Just that some infractions are seen as more egregious and therefore last longer. If you meant 7 instead of 10.....the amount of points may have got confused with amount of days till expiration.
  17. Thead is Closed Infraction is Issued.
  18. 30 points = 7 days 50 points = 1 month 1000 points = permanent ...and for the guy you mentioned they will expire in 7 days. In other situations it is 30 days before the expire.
  19. LOL...oh I agree that the likelyhood of it happening is remote and yes, even more so on duty. Even so remote that there has been a LEO or two on here that didn't think it was so. Although I have heard of the Old Hickory Mall in Jackson telling an off-duty officer to leave because he was armed. Thanks for the reply and taking my post as merely providing info/opinion and not as a jab toward anyone. Stay safe!!
  20. Yep AFC south definetly a tough division. Overall I think it was good the Texans beat the Colts as well.
  21. The guys on both the CBS and FOX pre-game shows thought the Steelers could go 3-1 without Roethlisberger, all thinking that one loss would be at Tennessee.
  22. +1 on all of that. If Vince can play like that every week we ought to do pretty good.
  23. Yep... Killgore has sort of a "bad reputation" when it comes to this. Where I work a company that makes the same items leases one of the production lines....they have "pops" from time to time, but since they have been there only once has anyone be injured. They have much newer equipment and setup than Killgore does.
