  1. Anyone catch the "new and improved" R51? I handled one and I must say I'd like to own one. Felt real nice in my hand and I'm sure carries like a dream.
  2. I have been very interested in getting a .22 TCM handgun and was looking at the Armscor booth yesterday. They have a couple different versions of the 1911 in .22 TCM but also have a Glock conversion coming out for the Glock 19 around December. They already have one out for the 17. I have never had much interest in the .22lr but the TCM may be cool to have on the Glock platform.   Anyone have one of the 1911's?
  3. Well I was able to handle alot of AR Pistols as well as sig brace equipped pistols and I can say without a doubt that I don't want one. :pleased:  I have decided to go ahead and just build a 16" rifle. I'd love to chat with you about it but I am not quite ready yet to start on the upper. I'm gonna do a little more research into different products and I may reach out to you then about them.
  4. Well that sucks. I'm sure they were "lost".
  5. I have to wait on my wife to get out of a baby shower so I'll get to swing by the range and sight in a rifle before heading to the show. Shooting and going to the show in the same day. Can't beat that! I'll probably go back tomorrow too after church. I contemplated going to the prayer breakfast but $40 is too rich for my blood.
  6. It's funny but I imagine that my male Dachshund speaks like Stewey in Family Guy and I was reading all of these in that voice in my head.
  7. Yeah I knew it was transferred as "other" but they just said something about a note. Maybe it's just in there system somehow. I didn't ask as I didn't really think it mattered.
  8. Me either. I mentioned to Guns and Leather that I was going to build a pistol with it and it sounded like they somehow noted that on the forms. Not even sure if it's possible but it didn't hurt to tell them.
  9. Man you literally never cease to amaze me. Thanks for clearing that up a cavemanning it down for me haha. I'll just be sure to hang on to my rifle then while having a pistol. So this leads to another interesting question. Wouldn't any lower that has ever has a buffer tube attached to it be considered a pistol first then a rifle once the stock is installed? Unless of course you had the stock on it when screwing it on. Mainly just talking about stripped receivers and not manufacturer built guns/lowers.
  10. I guess it's more of just a "just to be sure" kind of thing in my head. I do have the AR rifle so do have a legal use for a stock. I have plans to just put a rubber can tip of some type on the back then paracord over it. I'll then just take a picture or something showing that I actually built it as a pistol first.   I've had more than a few offers to go shoot someones blackout or SBR but just haven't had the chance to get to the range. I do appreciate all the offers though.       So can I run a 16" with a pistol length gas system? I'm gonna have an adjustable block on it either way.
  11. Nobody?? You guys must all be at NRA. :pleased:
  12. So I know this had probably been discussed eleventy times by now but I could find anything on it. I just received my lower parts kit  for my blackout build and am now deciding on a buffer tube. I am hoping to handle some guns this weekend at NRA and make a decision on whether or not I will SBR this build in the future. I am thinking I will just buy a standard 6 position buffer tube and wrap it in paracord. I think this would satisfy anyone that saw that as an easy way to quickly make an SBR without the wrap. If I don't care for the pistol configuration then I'll take it off and just make a standard 16" rifle build. If only the blackout got anything extra out of a 16" barrel this would be alot easier decision!   I guess I'm just looking for opinions and pictures of anyone that has done this before. I know it would be alot easier to just buy a pistol tube and change it out later but being the penny pincher I am I'd just like to buy once.   Just as a side not I'm really fighting the urge to do a 20" 5.56 build instead.
  13. Looks like Hickok 45 in the right window of the bus.
  14. down low. Sheesh
  15. Equipment exchange probably.
  16. Not a bad price either. At that price I may just buy two when I get to that point and put one on this gun.
  17. I had a PCR at one time with a Cajun Gun Works trigger kit I installed. It was a fine shooting gun that felt amazing in my hand but it just wasn't comfortable for me to carry. I also had trouble manipulating the slide as fast as a Glock because it isn't big and square like a Glock.   With that said I would trade my Gen 2 G19 for it any day because it was a very sweet shooting gun. One I hate that I let go. Just wasn't practical for me to carry.   I would buy another Glock though for carry.  :pleased:
  18. Yep I agree that I should be on the very low side. I am just confused why a normal xm855 round puts the brass right where it's supposed to go but a supposedly lower power round seems to be over-gassed. Maybe over-gassed doesn't necessarily correspond with a hotter load??
  19.   This data was actually from Hodgdon's website/loading tool. It does not have specific options for each bullet type so I just went by the bullet weight.
  20. Kentucky (Maker's Mark) is where it's at guys.... :pleased:
  21. I plan to put an adjustable on my blackout build but probably won't put anymore into this one. Maybe one day though. As long as it's not going to really hurt anything then I'm OK with the brass landing neatly to my right at the range rather than behind me for someone to sweep up.
  22. The fact I can't get over is that those loads barely fill over half of the case. I can hear it sloshing around in there.  :pleased:  I guess there is a big difference in whatever powder Lake City and Perfecta use.
  23. I'm gonna try to get a chronograph soon but don't have one yet. So forwards ejection basically means higher pressure? I just find that hard to believe with such a small charge but I guess there are many variables. They were actually doing this with the starting load of 21 grains. Maybe a little more to the 3 oclock spot though now that I think about it. I'll try some with the CFE223 and see what happens.
  24. The brass on the last reloads I shot were ejecting forwards around the 1-2 o clock range. Every other factory load I have shot through it ejects at the normal 4-6 range. Seems that most folks say it is "over gassed" but I am not sure I understand what that means.   The last load was a 55gr Vmax and a 75 gr bthp. Both with 21.5 grains of H335. The starting load was 21 with a max of 23.   Any ideas? Anything to worry about?
