This. However, keep a light on your nightstand pistol! ONLY use it when you're about to take a shot. It IS important to identify your target before firing. I would NOT use it as a search light. If you ARE searching, I hope you have a reason WORTH risking your LIFE(i.e. children and other family members). You otherwise would be best off hunkering down and calling 911. You let them come to you and use that light to identify the target and take the appropriate actions. MOST people take off their weapon lights when they carry the pistol. There are hardly any manufacturers out there that make holsters that accommodate weapon lights and weapon lights also make the pistol very heavy. This is where night sights come in. When you are away from the house, without adequate lighting, with minimum reaction time - night sights will help you deliver accurate shots in low light. Even if I had a weapon light on my pistol at all times, I would still use night sights. They simply don't fail, they don't use batteries, and they're very difficult to damage. I would FIRST get good quality night sights for my gun if it is a carry weapon. Then I would buy a decent weapon light that is easy to mount and take off. This is much better than a handheld light for many reasons. You do NOT want to have your hands full opening and closing doors. Most importantly you want as much control of the weapon as possible (recoil and prevent it from being taken away). Best of luck.
+1 Good post. Agree!

I have a Walther PPQ with Trijicon nite sights + a TLR-1 that I clamp on for bedside, etc., use. I remove it for other use. If you must choose between the two, I'd go with nite sights. JMHO

Hendersonville, TN Gun Show 17-18
Grunt67 replied to lowendbassshop's topic in Events and Gatherings
I plan on being there as well. Hope this is as good as they have had in the past. Later shows were down in size. Still enjoy browsing around & fondling new stuff. -
Don't have the 9, but do have the 40. Awesome gun & trigger. Bought mine from Speciality Arms, Lavergne. Paid $539 + tax & BG check. Shop around, $599 is too much. As stated earlier, Magnum Research has 'em for around $40. I bought 2 from them, no problems. Make "sure" you get the correct part #. It can be confusing. Also, might want to check out the Walther forum. There is a separate thread for the PPQ. Lots of great info there for starters. There are "stickys" for most FAQ. Go ahead & get it, you'll love it. Haven't heard anyone say otherwise. Edit to add: Part # for 9mm is MAGFA915 15rd. Part # for 40S&W is MAGFA4010 10rd. If ordering from Midway, click on Magnum Research, not Walther. Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle Fast Action. About $32 S/H Go to: 1. Gunsmithing & Gun Parts 2.Magazines by gun make & model 3.Magnum Research 4.Find tour part# Hope this helps someone

A bit late posting, but I went Sun. am. Picked up a few things I'd been hankering for. Nothing major. All in all, I agree with most, it was a decent show. Hope they can continue at at least that level.

Where are all these figures coming from? Adm is normally $10, tables are $66, $56 prepaid. Free parking. $1 off w/ coupon. Website says 850 tables. That's how many are available, not likely that many in use, hope so, don't bet the farm. Got an itch for a M&P Shield if I can find one. Rather scare right now in some places & pricey as well.

According to their ads & website, RK Shows will have a show in Hendersonville this weekend, Aug. 25 & 26th. @ 90 Volunteer Dr. Their first shows were good, later shows, a bust. Been quite a while since they had one at this location. Guess I'll give it a look.

Went this AM. Picked up a set of roll pin punches. Fondled a S&W shield. Kinda like the way if fits my paw. May sell my Taurus Pt709 Slim & get one.

This "should" send a message to the Harwells, Ramseys, Haslams, etc., of the state, but some of these people are so arrogant they believe they're untouchable. A decisive vote can change that. Maggart stuck her neck out on this issue, and is now wandering around looking for her head. Like a lot of other folks, I don't agree with everything the NRA does, but they came thru like a champ here. I will renew when due.

Jonnin, I agree totally. The 2nd amend issue was one thing, but not allowing it to make the floor for a vote is just wrong. We sent folks to the Legislature to vote in our stead. When they aren't allowed an opportunity to cast that vote, we lose, regardless of the topic. To say I was overjoyed when I saw this result in the news, is a gross understatement. My only regret is that I wasn;t able to cast my vote against her. Congratulations, Col. Rogers!!

Lebanon show was a bust as usual. $8 adm., not close to worth the price. Having nothig else to do Sat am, I went knowing better. Should have bought a dog & stayed home & played with it.

I have a Bullhide belt I bought at the gun show in Nashville 2 or 3 yrs ago. Gave $35 for it, now about twice that, but has been a really good gun belt. Fits well, stiff, no sign of wear thus far.

Now you're talking. Cades cove is my fav place on the planet. -
Too simple, OS. Politicians can't grasp simple.

That is one wicked animal. I love watching those things work out. Far cry from the old Huey gunships we had in 'Nam.

Awesome weapon. Looks like fun.

Never owned one, but a buddy of mine did years ago. He swore by it as the best thing since light bread. He may have been right.

This pretty much sumes it up, IMO. Different stores carry more or less of items, especially gun related items. Near me, Lebanon does fairly well with guns & ammo, etc. Gallatin, not so much. Tha manager is the key here, either part of the solution, or part of the problem. Associates usually haven't a clue what to expect.

I took the oath in' 66. Best I remember, mine expires when I do. Also, took the LE oath in 2003.

Walther PPQ has a .10" reset. .40" initially. I have one in 40 S&W...awesome trigger.

Police: Hug Triggers Officer's Gun, Kills Woman
Grunt67 replied to Curiousgb's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Love to see a video of how this came about. -
Politicians have a habit of flip flopping on the 2nd Amend. This one wouldn't be a surprise either. Couldn't understand half of what he said on the video.

Doctors should have right to ask you about your guns
Grunt67 replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Ruling or not, I don't think it's any of the doctor's business. Certainly I would tell him/her so. I agree with a previous post, that it's a matter of time before it shows up on an insurance form. -
One of, maybe the best, guns I ever owned was a Dan Wesson 357.
