:D Well, I'd have a hard time arguing with that. Circumstances find me stuck here at the moment. Like you said, could be worse. Maybe I can save up enough gas money to make it over your way. I'll let you know so you can get the women & kids off the streets. LOL

I check the shelves at Lebanon & Gallatin regularly. Haven't seen so much as one box on the shelf in months. According to the clerk " it comes in at random times", leaves quicker than a minnow can swim a dipper. She said the get only a few ( 3 or so ) at a time. So much for bulk.

Just FWIW, I ordered 500 Sierra 165 gr JHP from Powder Valley back around the 1st of Feb. Their homepage said due to being overrun with orders it would be about Mar 7 before they could be shipped. Ordered 'em anyway, sit & wait, more than I had at the time. Recieved an email from them on Mar 5, that they had been shipped. The point of this whole post is that in spite of the chaos we now have in the business, these folks actually stood behind what they said, and without gouging. $ 21.74 / 100, + S&H. Just wanted to pass it along to whomever might be interested. Recd. on Mar. 8, btw.

Grunt67 replied to R1100R's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Caster, you may be the wise one of the bunch. -
Speciality Arms in LaVergne has them at times. Have seen them at the gun show. Been a while tho. Give 'em a call.

Well worth the money. Especially if you're just starting out.

How many are sitting good in the Ammo Department ?
Grunt67 replied to R1100R's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I'm in good shape on 40, 9, 22, 30-06. 5,56. 12ga, 16 ga. Just rying to replenish what I shoot. Due to supplies, been cutting back on shootin'. Still got quite a few to reload as well. Bottom line, got enough to ruin someones day if the SHTF. -
Worm shortage?

My .02 Modern Reloadin..Richard Lee ABCs of reloading Lee dies "If" you can find 'em

I understand Gregs frustration. He's a bit like me, has a low tolerance level for some things. Thing is, and we all have to deal with the situation at hand.....supply/prices. My plan now, if you can call it one, is take what you can get when you can, if the price is fairly reasonable, & if you're in need of supply. I've been in there a few time recently, as well as the Reloaders Bench, looking for bullets. None one the shelves. Have 500 on order from Powder Valley, "hopefully" to ship around Mar. 7. A problem, no doubt. Like herding cats!

Welcome from your neighbor to the North. Hartsville. Best gun forum there is.

Decent race. MM did well. Gotta like him, whether you root for him or not. Danica had a good day ran in the front pack all day. Finished 8th. Still rather have the restrictor plates in the garbage tho. Racing's not about slowing down. JMHO

Got my Thumlers Tumbler from STM...Stainlesstumblingmedia. Tumbler & media (5#), was about $250 including S/H. There will be about a 2-3 wk. wait. They're covered up like everyone else. Great results. No comparison to vibrating tumblers. My old Frankford tumbler is not retired. Still use the separator tho. A bit pricey compared to the other, but the media doesn't have to be replaced, cleans the brass inside & out incl. primner pocket & flash hole. 2 tbls of dishwash detergent + 1/4 tsp of Lemishine, gal of water, you're good to go.

From many reports I have read on the Walther forum, S&Ws service is spotty. Sometimes it is great, sometimes makes you pull your hair out. Walthers split from S&W should be an improvement. I have a PPQ in 40 S&W. Haven't had any problems thus far. How this works out will be a wait & see, but the folks on the Walther forum that deal with issues on a regular basis are thrilled with the change. FWIW

Buggy wheel, perhaps?

Basically the same story as the last election. Of course the school shooting only intensified the situation. The anti-gun Libs took full advantage of that. Why are we so surprised?

How Long Have You Had Your TN Handgun Carry Permit
Grunt67 replied to runco's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Got mine shortly after they came out, but can't remember the date. Been quite a while tho. Still got the original paperwork somewhere. Memory is a wonderful thing.....if it still works. LOL -
Thumler Tumbler Model B belt replacement
Grunt67 replied to 221 Fireball's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
LOL, yeah, I wish I had know about this years ago. When I first started handloading back in the late '60s, I cleaned each pc by hand with Brasso & a cotton cloth. Didn't have large batches, Live & learn. And, true, the "B" isn't cheap. I paid $250 for mine (including shipping, etc), from STM ( StainlessTumblingMedia). Had a 2 week backorder due to volume of orders. Good company to do business with. Had no problem communicating with them via email. Thanks for your service, BTW, from an ole Army grunt. -
Thumler Tumbler Model B belt replacement
Grunt67 replied to 221 Fireball's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks for the info. I bought a Model B about a week or so ago. Had thought the same thing about the belt. Vac belts look to be about the same if you could find one. Luckily you did. I'll keep that in mind. Hope mine will last a while. FWIW, RockTumbler.com has belts & other parts if needed. -
Made the show this am about 10. No line, one guy in front of me. Went directly to Davis' booth & picked up 3K primers. Thanks, David. Prices very reasonable. Bought 100 rd box of Rem 40 to replace some I shot up this week. All in all, not a bad trip. As all have said, some prices were over the top. Colt AR $2200. 223 ammo $1 ea., on & on. Gotta love being broke after a gun show. :)

I had planned to go this am, but had some problems come up. Maybe Sun am & get some Fed small pistol primers from David if he has any left........... Someone that goes today, let us know how it is ( crowd, parking, etc )
