  1.  Feb. 9 & 10.  Also, think there will be a boat & fishing show @ the Fairgrounds as well. Parking, not only expensive, but packed as well, most likely. Haven't heard of Obama going after that portion of sports ( yet ). I could use CCI small pistol primers. David, got any? Certain no one else will.
  2. Wasn't aware of PayPal's policy on firearms, etc. until this posting. Sent them an email advising I will no longer use their service ( shortened version here ). It was a convenience, not a necessity anyway.
  3. I wouldn't take anyone I care about to Chicago, armed or otherwise.
  4. De-priming die & re-size die are one & same. Get you a good reloading manual ( ABCs of Reloading, and Modern Reloading 2nd Edition by Lee, since you have a Lee setup ), would help you a great deal. Read the heck out of 'em. You'll be off to a good start. Welcome to the club. Lots of good info on here & good folks wiling to help. Enjoy.....
  5.   Magnum Research has a decent price ( $30 or so ), Baby Desert Eagle mags, "if" you can find some in stock. Hard to do at present. I bought from there, look & perform like OEM.
  6. I have the version with the "funky" mag release. Doesn't bother me all that much. Had an old P99 yrs ago with same release. As for the PPQ, either version, very satisfied with it. Best trigger out of the box you'll find. All around well built gun. Most will prefer the grip buitton release, as it's what most folks are accustomed to. Also, added Trijicon nite sights to mine. Green front, yellow rear.
  7. Finally got around to checking the new store out today. Have a few handguns, not many long guns. Some accessories, little ammo. Due to starting out & the scarcity of everything, it's going to take some time to get this store stocked up well.  I asked if they intended to have any reloading stuff. Guy said later. It takes so much stock to pull that off. Wish 'em luck starting out at this particualr time.
  8. RK Show at Hendersonville this weekend, Jan 19 & 20. Anyone going to brave the chaos? Adm. $10, parking free.
  9.   Have no idea where Reno might be, but would be a great place to start looking for a Squatch. On the other hand, even Squatches are picky who they hang with
  10.   The 'boro is $10, same as H'ville. Free parking @ both tho. Parking will likely be scarce at both.
  11. I had considered going, just out of curiosity. Felt like crap today, rain, crowds, etc. Not going. Another show scheduled for Hendersonville next weekend. I'll wait 'til then.....
  12. Have to put myself in the "handloader" category. Not in a hurry. My ex said I was a perfectionist. I disagree. Just need it to be right & reliable. Never had a misfire over the 40+ yrs of handloading. ( knocking on wood here, LOL )
  13.   Not too surprised at that, Greg. Their surplus stuff has always been pricey, as well.
  14. Been noticing the signs for a while. Only live 2.4 mi from there. Have to check 'em out.
  15. Won't be going. The last few times I went, you could put the whole show on an index card. Not worth the trip or admission.
  16. Get the folks with mental & social issues off the street. They're the ones causing the problem usually. How you're going to accomplish that, I have no idea. Doing away with "gun free zones" isn't a bad idea either.
  17. I have a Taurus PT709 Slim. Good gun, carry it in a pocket holster. Just like the PPS better......but, the only reason I didn't trade, and I had planned to, was the amount of $$$, I'd have to pony up to trade. Couldn't justify the difference. If I was buying staight up, it would be the PPS. Fondled the Shield, just preferred the PPS. To each his own. Probably couldn't go wrong with either.
  18. Been there. Not worth the effort. Too small, crowded space, overpriced admission.
  19. The 5.56 only looks small 'til you're hit with it.
  20.   In a gun that size, the PPS will be hard to beat. JMHO
  21. Walmart in Lebanon, a few days ago, had about 6 or so 40 S&W mega paks. In there yesterday, all gone, plus, the other shelves of ammo were nearly empty. It's definitely on again.
  22. I got there about the same time. Only a couple of folks ahead of me in line. Bought a box of ammo for the GFs revolver. Spoke to David for a minute about his "crud". Glad to see he's better. Mine's better too, but still hanging on. Good show, and I'll agree with the previous poster about the attendance. Good to see, for whatever reason. As usual, the antis' have taken the Conn. shooting & running with it. Wondering how many more of these we can weather before it hits the fan. Certainly, a tradegy beyond belief. Disarming the law abiding gun owners, would be the same.
  23. Like to go if I'm able. Had the crud for over 2 wks. Hate to miss this one.
