  1. Update on the RK Murfreesboro show......Just checked the TN gun show list, It now shows a listing for Apr. 21 & 22 @ the Mid Tenn Expo Center on 1200 PArk Ave. Same site as before. Guess they got whatever issue they had, resolved.
  2. Had a guy (?) in our Chancery Crt. a month or so ago, changed his/her name from Eric, to Erin. As you might imagine, it got a lot of attention & raised eyebrows in the courthouse.
  3. FWIW, I used Firefox on mine.
  4. Gerry Spence, who was Randy Weavers Def. Atty. in the case, wrote a book on Ruby Ridge. Good reading on the case & the way the Feds mishandled the whole affair. Absolute disgrace to this country. Waco was another case in point, where the Feds wanted to put on a show of who's boss. We all knopw how that went down. These two events were what set Timothy McVeigh off. While I certainly don't condone what he did to a lot of innocent folks, I can understand his frustrations.
  5. You don't need a reason. All you need is money. LOL
  6. If anyone thinks the Feds won't do something like this, read the story of "Ruby Ridge" about how the Gov. entrapped Randy Weaver, then ended up killing his wife & son, wounding others. This in the Bill Clinton/Janet Reno era. Makes my blood boil everytime I think about that. Compare Clinton-Reno to Obama-Holder. No difference.

    Walther PPQ

I had an old school P99 myself. Great gun. If you like the P99, you'll love the PPQ. Just took a good gun & made it much better.

Two very good videos on the PPQ........among other things.
  9. I can't see this being overturned. Stand Your Ground won't apply if you're chasing someone. Of course the Lib. media has climbed all over this, as usual, as in the political cartoon in todays Tennessean. Ignorant bias, as usual. It'll go away when the dust settles.

    Walther PPQ

The mag release & slide lock lever take a bit of getting used to. The P99 I had years ago had the same mag release. A little bit of practice will fix that. Muscle memory kicks in. Aftermarket items are sometimes hard to find. This being a new model, some suppliers are playing catchup. There is lots of good info on the Waltherforum.com site. I had planned to add Trijicon nite sights to mine, but right now most are out of stock. Could go with Meprolight, but prefer the Trijicon. Mags can be found, but they're not cheap. A little time will likey increase the supply & lower the prices. Some of the accessories for the P99 will fit the PPQ. Luckily, I still had the old Galco holster I used with the P99. The PPQ fits right in. Be sure to check out the Walther forum. A lot or your questions will likely be answered there.
  11. I got an e-mail some time ago ( week or two maybe ), that mine was due. Went thru PayPal & fixed it up. If all else fails, put a notice in the Support thread or send David a PM. FWIW, I think mine was quite a bit overdue, not sure. Dang memory thing!!
  12. Do they make a neck holster for this? Like to have one for my ex.......
  13. Call Taurus customer service. If it's under warranty, and I'm sure it is, they will likely have FexEx to pick it up & bring it back. This has been the experience I've read on the Taurus forum. TaurusArmed.net Check it out. Wealth of info over there.
  14. Totally agree Jonnin. This whole "hate crime" thing has gotten waaaay out of control. Personally, if some dude shoots me, dead or not, I couldn't care less if they hated me or not. It'll either hurt the same or just as dead. Just another excuse to add another charge to the mix. This whole Florida case has turned into a media circus, with evryone on the block wanting their face on TV. Wait until it plays out in court, then see where the chips fall.
  15. Gas station & minit marts that post have pretty much gone the way of the buffalo nickel. Just noticed the other day, the minit mart in Lebanon (No. Cumberland ), still has an old sign on a side window. I ignore it & buy my paper & continue on. Leo may ask you for your HP, and may hold your weapon for security purposes if he sees fit. Since you are out of state, it might make him/her a bit apprehensive, maybe not. Shouldn't be a big thing regardless. I'm not a big fan of OC either, just makes folks nervous. To each his own. Enjoy your stay in the Volunteer State.

    Walther PPQ

If you do get to try it out, be prepared to buy one.
  17. "If" I remember correctly, the Legislature is trying to more clearly define the phrase, "for the purpose of going armed". Not sure where this is in the process, or if it will get anywhere, but like you said, it is pretty much open to interpretation. Not unusual to have many interpretations on the side of the road in a traffic stop. In reply to the OP question, Open carry is perfectly legal in TN, tho it's not encouraged in some circles ( hope this doesn't start the standard debate here ). No permit, no carry, open, concealed. Just get the permit, not that difficult.

    Walther PPQ

Have had a craving for a PPQ in 40 S&W for a while now. Finally made it happen today at the H'ville gun show. If you're not familiar, it's a new model out for a few months now, basically a tuned up version of the older P99. Had one of those & was a really good gun. Traded it for a Glock, regretted it ever since. Got it home & had the chance to put a couple of mags thru it before the storm chased me inside. Shoots great, awesome trigger. Can't wait to put it thru it's paces some more. Maybe tomorrow if I get the "honey do's" done in time. Actually, gonna have to cut grass or buy livestock. LOL
  19. I got down there this AM. Bought the Walther PPQ 40 S&W I had been longing for, from Speciality Arms. Got a pretty good deal I thought. Now all I need to do is dress it out with some Trijicons & I'll be good to go. Got to put a couple of mags thru it when I got home before the storm hit. Shot great as expected. Love that trigger. All in all I thouight the show had improved from earlier, at least in size.
  20. Lucky son of a gun, LOL Enjoy
  21. Agree! This deal stinks to high heavens.

  23. Since we're on the subject, when does it go to Senior member, etc. Couldn't find anything on different levels, etc.
  24. LOL, Well, I suffer greatly from that myself. RKs website is not always up to date, so add a grain or tow of salt with that.....just in case. dlm should have a better take on the situation, he's deeper into the loop than most of us.
  25. I agree, I'm all for protecting species that are endangered. Eagles no longer fit this category. The US has broken most, if not all the treaties/promises they made to Native Americans over the years. A couple of eagles is but a drop in the ocean as payment for what they're owed.
