  1. Several violations here. TN law requires 500sq. inches of orange, including on the head. Neither the boy or Grandfather had either. "If" this was a buck only hunt, a legal buck must have antlers a minimun of 3 inches. You have to clearly see a deer to tell if a buck has 3" of antlers. Hard to do even then. "If" this was an antlerless hunt, you still have to clearly identify the target. None of this happened. Plenty of blame to go around. Wearing orange hasn't always prevented an idiot from shooting either.
  2. I agree. All good ideas, but the "no permit required" item has little chance of passing. I too hope I'm wrong. We've still got Beth Harwell ( female version of Jimmy Naifeh(sp?). She's going to bury as much as she can in Committee. Of course, she can expect a lot of help from the media. Gonna be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
  3. Trousdale Co. Sheriffs Dept. Glock 22 40 S&W
  4. The Lebanon show is probably smaller than Goodman's , and not worth the admission. One small building with 2 side rooms. Been to the past two shows. Won't be back. Agreed, just way too many shows in a row. The Hendersonville show has been going downhill since the first one. Goodman is overpriced at $8 + $5 parking. Think I'll limit my shows to the one in the "Boro.
  5. I've used UMC 40 for quite a while. Never had an issue with it. Actually, I prefer it over WW. Talking about target only here. Golden Saber for PD.
  6. LOL, you beat me to it. The Taurus form has a wealth of info on there. Check it out. FWIW, some on there say Taurus cust. serv. is good, some say it stinks. Like most, it may depend on the individual you talk to.
  7. The ad "may" have been somewhat accurate for the 1st show, but been going downhill since. Haven't really seen many accurate ads of any sort.
  8. This scenario is similar to the old question.. "Do you still beat your wife?" No good answer.
  9. Well, here we go again, back to back gun shows. But it's there if you're so inclined. With gun deer season opening this weekend, may make even bigger dent in the attendance. RK Shows......90 Volunteer Dr. H'ville
  10. I used to go there years ago. Thing was huge compared to anything we have in TN.
  11. I've never found much in the way of reloading supplies at a gun show. Just the basics, some powder, primers, bullets. Not a big selection of that. Best bet is the Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet, if you're close.
  12. Made the show. Got there just before lunch. Didn't find everything I wanted to check on, but did buy 5 boxes of Trioxane fuel tablets. 3 per box, $1 per box. Still a lot of non gun items. Even had one dude massaging feet. LOL
  13. Same here, Hawkeye. I'd love to see this show. Has to be awesome, but a bit out of my range. I'll have to settle for the 'Boro for now.
  14. RK Shows has their gun show this weekend in the 'boro, if anyone's interested. Guess I'll try to be there around lunch time. FWIW, noticed on RKs ads they say, "we do not regulate dealers prices". Does any show regulate prices? Never heard of that. Looks like wasted ink to me.
  15. Are you talking about factory loads or reloads?
  16. Gun dealers are like other dealers, some will haggle, some won't. I'll make an offer, if they refuse, I'll either pay what they ask, or walk away. I usually just ask, what's your best out the door price, and go from there. I know of no gun show operator that regulates that.
  17. Glad I got to meet you, and chat for a few. I bought a "Blue Book Of Gun Values" I'd been wanting...$25. Didn't think this show was quite as good as the last one in H'ville. Still way ahead of Goodmans shows. BTW, if you have more money than you can count....... LOL Larry
  18. Agree. That's where I used to get my Ala. Ammo, back in the day when the Reloaders Bench made the gun shows in this area. Good store.
  19. R.K. Gun Show this weekend in Hendersonville...90 Volunteer Dr. Last show was good, planning on being there around mid-day.
  20. Well, I'd go for a hat or T-shirt, but think that's already been tried some time ago. Cheap version, we could just go to Wally World, etc. & get some stick on name tags. Gotta be some way to pull this off without breaking the bank. David, any suggestions?
  21. BUMP Just a reminder, RK show is this weekend @ the 'Boro....Oct. 15 & 16. Plan to be there Sat AM myself.
  22. Anyone know if they are still charging for parking at Goodmans show?
  23. I doubt if anyone, except the ACLU ( Communist founded ), really gives a rats butt if he had due process or not. He made his choices, lived & died by them. Keep those drones flying & firing.
  24. Walmart is not one stop shopping for all things gun related, but for what they do have, ammo, & a few accessories, their prices are hard to beat. Get what you can at the best price, then go elsewhere for the rest. True, customer service isn't the best, some stores better than others. Same can be said for the LGS. Bottom line, you have to shop around for prices, etc.
  25. Although Bills shows have gone downhill recently, he did a lot for the gun show business, gun owners and shooters. According to their e-mail, his son David will continue the shows, as he has done the past several years.
