  1. I heard sirens this morning right around 5:45 and several cops driving in my neighborhood. I wonder if this was all related. I think that some of the cops live in my neighborhood so that would explain some of the cars I saw. Eitherway, not fun being woke up to sirens.
  2. RichardS: I am ordering one even if I don't end up using it myself. I may need to some bullets from you if this idea takes off. I don't think that I will ever need to buy a large amount but you never know.
  3. That is exactly what I want to do. How much did that cost per lock and what was the brand? I have not seen this at Dicks before.
  4. I am looking to find a trigger lock that still allows the cases that you get with the gun to close. Most guns come with a cable lock and I don't like those at all. I would like to get them all keyed alike. What I am really looking for is the type of locks that places like the retail shops use. They are all keyed alike and fit just over the trigger with no extra bulk so the original boxes will shut. If anyone knows where I can get those please let me know.
  5. Pretty sure ANY gun related crime revokes your FFL status. If it is pushed by local judicial system he could get carrying on prohibited property and unlawful discharge of a weapon. Both are a misdemeanor. It just depends on how much they want to go with it, and I am pretty sure RK can add some to that for violation of policy.
  6. I have had many encounters with Bill. He is a good guy and I think he is retired leo/ military. I have held that kimber and it did have a laser on it. I am not defending him by no means. Lets just all keep him in our thoughts and his wife who is usually there with him and most likely saw the whole thing. He is going to have a long legal battle in front of him and might loose his license. I am pretty sure most of us have talked to him, he is one of the more friendly vendors there. It was a stupid thing to have happen, but I know most of the vendors carry a loaded personal weapon, several have cleared a round before showing it to me. Again I am not saying it was not a stupid move on his part, I wish it never happened, but I bet we all check twice or more from now on.
  7. I did not know that a hammer could work. I do own a .223 and will be making a trip to the range really soon. I will try the hammer route first and then might try a hand press if it looks bad. Thanks for the info, I might try buying the brass bullet belt if I continue to do more projects. Where would be the best place to buy the slugs.
  8. I wan't to do some artwork using non live rounds. I want to get/make some rounds that look like a real round but have no powder or primer, just the shell and bullet. I do not know if there is a place that sells these or how easy it would be to make at home even though I don't have a reloading setup. I want it to look as good as if they were factory. What items would I need to do this and what is a round about cost per round. I think I want to start with 223 and see how that works.
  9. I have stopped going to that Walmart for simalar reasons. It seemed like everytime I went there the lot had people asking for money or just acting weird and I usually am out with 2 kids under 2yrs old so I am not very moble and can't safely carry due to the oldest alway kicking it. I would rather drive aliitle out of the way then put my kids in danger.
  10. I have a pistol scope on mine and it works great, I can't recall the make but it only cost about 70 dollars new. Everyone I know that scopes there Mosin use pistol scopes, most go really cheap.
  11. I went and got 2 bags of the green bricks of poison and put them all in my crawl space and put 2 traps under my sink and after 2 days I have not seen a trace of one since. An exterminator once told me that this was the best plan of attack plus filling any holes going into the house, but they keep eating through the spray foam. We get a couple every-time it gets cold.
  12. My wife and I are struggling with this too. We have 2 kids under 16months so we can't tell one with out the other finding out. We are leaning toward teaching them the real meaning of CHRISTmas ,sorry cap lock got stuck ;-) They will still get gifts from Santa but it will not be pushed that he exists. I think that the older one would figure it out on her own in a couple of years anyway.
  13. Gearhog has $20 for $10 at Rockyourglock.com I just got a 17 round mag some springs and a mag release for $20 cost but after the gearhog and shipping I got it for $13. For those of you that have gearhog just check your email, for those that dont have it go to GEARHOG | 50% - 70% off your favorite outdoors, hunting and fishing gear and click buy and then check your email for the code to put in on Rockyourglock.com.
  14. one of my ex employees was making over 75k playing games but he also had a real job so I guess 100k wouldn't be that unrealistic. It is all about the advertisements before the video, they can get up to .25 per viewing just depends on the contract they get with youtube. It is ridiculous.
  15. Gearhog has a deal for Joeboboutfitters.com $15 for $30 worth of products. I did that I grabbed up some Blackdog mags which they have on sale. I got 3 for 40 shipped. Just go to gearhog here GEARHOG | 50% - 70% off your favorite outdoors, hunting and fishing gear it is basically a free $15 and Joebob has discounts for TGO members, and they are having good sales today.
  16. Gander will have Nagants for $99 on Black Friday.
  17. There is a guy here in town that does great work and is cheap. He is a glock and springfield armor and has his gunsmithing license. His name is Michael, his numbers is 865-556-8004. He just did some work for me and was half the best price I could find elsewhere. He might be a Sig armor, I am not sure he did not work on my Sig. I think he also has some certification from Remington.
  18. I would grab a 30-30 lever because of the stopping power is good enough and the weight is low. I can reload that faster than a bolt and is is more reliable than an auto. I agree with the long range shot not really being an issue because of the mountains, but I can easily hit at 250 with that. It may not kill them first shot at 250+ but the second should.
  19. I was told that the 34 slide fits as well so if any one see one of those let me know
  20. that is kind of what I have been doing but I figured more eyes on the look out or if anyone hears of someone selling one maybe I would have better luck.
  21. Does anyone know where to get cheap slides for Glocks. I have a 17 that the slide has seen better days. I was looking at getting a new slide, or a used one that I can play around with my new duracoat setup. I don't was to try something new on my slide without having a back up slide just in case I mess things up. I have duracoted other things but not with this setup. Any input on slides that are not 200+ would be great. All the ones I find under hat seem to be sold out.
  22. best price in knox is Greene military on Kingston Pike. Other places have it but they want $15 plus per 100ft
  23. The kick is not as bad as people say. I fire about 100rounds per trip to the range. Bajubuc was a couple lanes down one of the times I was at the range with my m44, I was told that day that the noise is pretty loud for the people around you. Have fun, it is a great fun gun to shoot and cheap as well.
  24. I have been making all kinds of things for a while now. The most fun was making gun slings and belts.
  25. It could be the first time 2 undefeated teams play on thanksgiving.
