Ruger P90 .45 Auto

Recommended Posts

my daughter has a friend who owns a Ruger P90 .45 auto, black/chrome which he needs / wants to sell. I have expressed interest in buying it. I have looked at the Ruger website and a new one runs around $560.00. He has 6 mags (capacity unknown), holster, & case. Now, I do not know how old this is or how many rounds have been fed it, but I was wondering - "bout how much is that baby worth?" I am going to make him an offer so I want to be fair but not get ripped. Anyone got any ideas roughly???

Personally, I wouldn't offer more than $400 (at the very most). And the only reason I'd go that high, is because of the 6 mags. Those will add a few extra bucks. This is all depending on condition, of course.

would this be worth the $400??? are these rugers reliable / good pistols to have??? are they crap, etc etc??? I know very little about rugers other than that cute little LCP model.

Ruger autos are generally built like tanks, and weigh like tanks too. I wouldn't consider them crap but I don't think they are too practical or anything special.

most likely just plinking and having around to keep the other pistols company. it would not be a carry gun or anything like that. i might keep it for future trading or selling.

I've had 2 P-Series Rugers, and I regret ever selling them. I fired thousands and thousands of rounds with both of them, and I never had a single issue. They are built like tanks.

If you have the extra money, and want one for plinking, buy it. Just make sure you're getting a fair deal. Don't pay $400 for a gun that's been beat to hell.

thanks, i will make sure the specs are on when i examine it. definately don't want to pay high dollar for something that looks worn & torn.

One other thing, make sure the 6 mags are Ruger mags. Ruger factory or Mec-Gar are the only mags I would consider. Things like no name mags or Promags are junk and are not worth much of anything. If they areRuger mags and you want to be fair try to get it for $375 to $400. If they are not I wouldn't go tover $350 unless you are just wanting to be charitable. Land I agree with those that have already stated, Ruger P series guns are built like tanks but are kinda bulky but they make good house/car/range guns. They also have 2 different kind of safeties. One model has a trigger disconnecting safety and the D model is a decker only. I would want the decocking only model myself as I like that style.
