Has anyone used a Matchsaverz (Match Saver) on a shotgun?

Just a single rd holder? There's one I used to see all the time at 3 Gun matches that held two rds. That's the one *I* would opt for.

DHF, I'm guessing you already have a sidesaddle shell holder on your shottie? FWIW, they also make some 6rd versions of those. My apologies if you already knew that?

Thanks for the feedback.  May pick one up and give it  try.  As you said, A.J., the videos on the site show some heavy hitters implementing it.  I'll try and find the two round version and take a good look at it, though, bobsguns.

Check out the gear made by Nordic Components as well. 1st class goodness.

I have one on my shotgun, but my buddy made it out of a piece of PEX tubing.  I haven't shot 3-gun  in awhile, but I recall using it fairly often (which actually is not a good thing).  In 3-gun, you want to reload your shotgun before you run completely dry.  Generally, if your bolt is locked back on an empty chamber, you've screwed up.  The match saver lets you fix that problem quickly.

Ehhh, not absolutely screwed, IMO.

We would slap a fresh rd into the chamber & then slap the lift gate on the bottom which releases the bolt (which I'm sure you know). Then, if we needed to, slid in an additional extra rds into the mag tube. It's a lot faster than it sounds.

I had one match in Cleveland, TN where a clay got tossed into the air. It was my LAST target & I had an empty shottie. Everyone enjoyed a good laugh at my expense on that one.

On another match there, I fired my last rd on the last target, locking the bolt back for the "cease fire" command. Ironically, I did a (for me) super fast tactical reload of 5-6 rds shortly before. I didn't have a target count nor rd count. It just happened to work out perfectly for me that ONE time for me. Funny part was, everyone thought I'd done it on purpose. I kept quiet on that one!  😝
