I have a Rossi 38 snubby that I could carry, but don't know if I will. I am going to buy a pocket holster and a maybe a ankle holster for it for those times where it is not doable to wear my CTAC for my XD.

Tungsten, et al; carry a backup. A firearm is a mechanical device and ANY mechanical device can fail. Yeager and his faculty as well as others say "Two guns are one, one gun is none."

Your primary gun can become inoperable.

You may need to/wish to arm another person who comes to your aid.

You may drop your gun in darkness and not wish to use a light to find it

thus giving away your position.

You could be taken prisoner, have your primary gun taken from you and

just maybe not be searched for another gun/or it could be missed in a

search.

Lots of other reasons.

I need to add that NOTHING I say is origional. ALL of it I read/got somewhere else, most of it from Yeager.

Hope some of this is helpful.

Respectfully, RN

yea i bought that holster along with the clip that goes onto the gun(looks like a clip on a knife) and i just put the gun in my front pocket with the clip and i could not tell it was even there . i use to carry that p22 that i sold to twstdstng on my ankle it just did me no good way down there on my ankle .

Don Hume makes a nice, simple, and inexpensive leather back pocket holster. I use one when appropriate as do a number of my LE friends. Slips nicely into the back pocket of jeans.

Those pen-style clip things worry me on guns like the Keltec and Kahr that have no external safety devices whatsoever. At least on a Glock you have the trigger safety. Not so on those other guns. Anything that got against the trigger in your pocket or against the outside of your pants near the pocket could result in an accidental discharge.

This has nothing to do with proper training and keeping your finger away from the trigger. It's purely about Murphy's Law and the fact that crap happens.

Yeah, I don't like the clips either. Something needs to cover the trigger.

About whether it would be safer to carry a Glock or Kel-Tec that way, I think you know my view on that. Maybe if the Glock had a New York + trigger.

Nah, just a bad idea for any handgun.

I carry a Smith and Wesson model 36 Chiefs Special as a BUG too! Or a Diamondback DB380 in hot weather. These pistols are either my primary carry or my back up guns. I love my "Old School" model 36. It's the quickest gun I own to get off a first shot on target.

just for ****s and giggles I have carried four pistols. Moslty just to see if I can do it and stay concealed and reasonably comfortable.

They were XD .45 at 4 o'clock, .357 revolver at 8 O'clock, .32 in the cargo pocket and a .25 in the left front pocket. No one knew.

I rarely carry a back up, but when I do I don't like where I am going to.
