Shipped plenty inside the state with zero issues as it pertains to the law. HOWEVER, be aware your carrier and where its going or coming from will depend on how long it takes regardless of what tracking tells you. Shipped a long gun from Knoxville to Memphis and was promised 3 day delivery. it arrived on day 9 and their excuse was "logistics bruh" 😞

Which means......crappy service in government terms.

Correct.

Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's painless. I've no idea how to do it and who to do it with, but I would recommend insurance.

It's been a while but back several years ago when my buddy BT passed away I had made him a promise that if anything ever happened I would help his wife dispose of his long guns. I made a post here and had one person meet the prices I placed on them and he also bought all the ammo that went with the guns. I made arrangements to ship all the long guns in hard cases he supplied. When I shipped them they were at post office with Priority/Tracking. It took a couple weeks to get the transfer complete but went smoothly. I had to switch to UPS for the ammo and had to use UPS labels on all the packages. It went smoothly also. I can't exactly remember how many long guns he purchased but I was glad to get it done.

It was an instate shipment.

UPS was not quite as good with the ammo but it arrived I think in 7 or 8 days.

It was an instate shipment.

I recently sold a handgun to an out of state guy, so I used my FFL to ship it.

He asked how much insurance I wanted on it.

It comes with $500. The gun was worth $900 so I figured I'd insure it for that much.

He then proceeded to tell me he has had a few lost in the mail and the Post Office has never paid the claim.

So it may be legal to ship a long gun, but I doubt I'd ever do it-lol.
