Rayburn & Jackson were on CNN this morning debating this. Best line was from Jackson. Something like, "The most dangerous place in Nashville is between Rayburn and a tv camera." :bowrofl:

It seemed to go pretty well. CNN even ended it by acknowledging that there haven't been any issues with HCP holders since the law took effect. They also pointed out that restaurants can just opt out by posting. One of the most even-sided and civil debates I've seen on CNN on the subject.

ABC is making a big deal out of nothing. Isn't ABC headquarters in NYC? Why don't they look at the laws in their own backyard? It is legal to carry a handgun in New York in places that serve alcohol, if you have a license, whether it be a bar, restaurant, dance club, and so on. It is also not illegal to drink in New York when carrying. I have read reports where several NYPD have gotten into shootings off duty after having a few drinks and not had any problems, as long as they weren't intoxicated. Tennessee law is MUCH STRICTER than New York law as far as we can't even have a drop of alcohol when carrying a handgun. At least ABC showed the map that few states make it illegal to carry a gun in places that serve alcohol.

Just have to say that I made the murder suicide at Willie Moffit's a couple years ago, when an Ex-husband came in and shot his ex-wife in the back. I was part of the first responders. If I wasn't working that night me and my buddies all firemen & police would have probably been in there. The bar is a frequent fire and police spot. If we were allowed to carry back then it would of probably turned out a lot different.

ABC is a joke, and their ratings reflect it. This is the network who brought you Peter Jennings, a frustrated Canadian, to spew forth the news. Hmmmm. CBC and ABC? We never see them on the air at the same time... could it be???? :panic:

They never once mentioned that you cannot drink while carrying. Seems something they should have said, eh?

YES

I saw this article and another on a different channel (I think it was channel 4 news.) And in neither it was mentioned. I'm going to look into this further, I thought it was rather unfail they left this out!
