I have a Marlin 1895 that has had a little work done to it. The barrel has been cut down to 18" and recrowned. Complete action and trigger job so it is silky smooth. Has a Leupold 2x scope with quick detach rings. It is a sweet shooting little thumper in 45-70.

I have a Marlin 30-30, model 336. Mine also has the gold colored trigger. Dad gave it to me for Christmas one year (around the early 80's). It is the only rifle I have ever killed a deer with. As far as I'm concerned, it is the only rifle I need for deer hunting in Middle TN. 30-30 is perfect for brush. I remember having a nicely bruised shoulder from my youth when sighting in and practicing for deer season. The only way I see parting with mine is when I pass it on to one of my sons.

I remember that my Dad traded a Ruger 44 mag Super Blackhawk for this rifle and one he gave my brother that same year. Dad loved that Ruger. I still think he regrets letting it go. He must have really loved us to trade that one in. Makes my rifle a litle more special to me.
