AR15 Trigger

Recommended Posts

No I mean actually pulled the trigger on several million rounds through an AR.

am I understanding that you claim to have fired "several millions" of rounds? and you are 23 years old? I do not even think Jerry Miculek even claims that he has fired that many :drama:

Just to give you some frame of reference Kegger.

There's slightly more than 1 million seconds in a year. If you pulled the trigger 1 time per second, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, for an entire year, and didn't have to take time to reload you would have 1 million rounds fired.

Most military specialists firing mini-guns never reach 1 million rounds fired.

Now lets talk cost. You get an insanely good price on your 5.56mm? Let's say $0.50 per round. That's $500,000 per million rounds and you say you have fired several million rounds.

Staggering numbers. I wish we could get our government to come back down to JUST millions instead of those billions.

I think I have breathed a million times though in my life with minimal reloading.

It is staggering and think about this.....

How many times have we heard of a Predator Drone or an Apache firing a Hellfire missile at a target?

At $68,000 per missile, that's like sending a BMW down range each time they pull the trigger.

Pre-Gulf War I, most of our Apache pilots had never live fired a Hellfire because of the cost.

Our technology is GREAT, but our enemy's tactics include dragging it out to bankrupt us.

We showed em the way with Reagan and the cold war.

Anyway, after watching my brother have a double star lower and trigger shoot bursts with no special mods, I told him to get a RRA and all has been good.

RRA, order it up and forget about it.

Or just buy my rifle and forget about it all! LOL

Which of us males did not exaggerate on something to someone in our earlier days?

I still do, but it's not about how many bullets I've fired... :drama:

Thread-drift over.

Exaggeration is the coin of youth. Which of us males did not exaggerate on something to someone in our earlier days. Go easy.

In our earlier days????

The older I get, the better I used to be. :drama:

Rightwinger- What trigger messed up on your brothers rifle.

What about Armalite 2 stage trigger? Lower parts kit and all for $150ish

I assume it was a double star or other low end trigger or the previous owner tried to slick it up himself. The lower was a double star marked one and about 1 out of 4 trigger pulls would fire a burst of 3-4. He got the AR in a multi gun trade when he sold/traded a AR50 for several rifles.

Swapped it out immediately!

US Army 41st Small Arms Readiness Group, Fort McCoy, WI. June 07 to Feb 09. I fired several thousand rounds a day in demonstration, training, and weapons testing. Through various AR platforms.

BULL :P!

I know the training that took place at McCoy during that timeframe and it didn't require anybody firing thousands of rounds a day.

Getting back on topic - - - I also recommend Bill Springfield's work. Quick & a great price.

I own several triggers and used others. My top pick for a two stage is the Geissele SSA for a "combat trigger" and the Geissele DMR for a SPR style trigger. If you don't like the two stage, I'd go with the Timney. I've got 5 Geisseles and will probably never buy another trigger..

Triggers I've own/owned:

RRA two stage - It seems to be no different than the LMT two stage - nice but it's no Geissle

Timney - in POF

Chip McCormick - (sold)

Knight's Armament two stage

Bill Springfield - sits in a parts bin now

Standard GI - part bin

I've also shot the

AR Gold - these are nice

That said, for an AR15 that might be used for SD, I'd generally recommend staying with standard USGI.

I agree 100%.

If it's a SPR, or DMR type rifle, I'd probably consider a higher end 2-stage trigger, but for a fighting rifle or carbine where reliability is tantamount, I'm sticking with a USGI trigger.
