I have heard it is not very good and that despite famous actors wasnt worth seeing!

Also it was not shot in 3D but turned it to it later and thus alledgedly the effects are not consistant or even spectacular.

How des it compare tp Avatar?

Our local reviewer said the 3D was a distraction and not needed. We passed on it when we saw the Paradiso had 4 screens for the Tyler Perry show. The parking lost was a madhouse.

Went elsewhere to see "The Bounty Hunter" (blah) and "The Ghost Writer" (better).

Saw it friday night by invitation of my son...entertaining...better visually than the original stop motion Ray Harihausen claymation FX. Yes the 3D was an after thought...go see it in regular format...the 3D price isn't worth it..IMHO. Over all though we enjoyed the movie.

Saw it on Friday and was not happy with the 3D as well. it was way too flat for 3D and sometime I 'd remove my glasses to check and see if there was any 3D and the difference was minimal. The movies is worth a watch on regular screen, has some good acting and graphics. I believe the storyline of the 1981 version was better however. enjoyed the movies but was disappointed by the 3D. specially at 14.50 a person for the tickets.

The movie is alright, but it's not what it was hyped to be. 3D is absolutely worthless in this movie. Nothing jumps out of the screen at you. It's basically 'enhanced' 2D.

I'd give it a B-.
