I've gotta take a bunch of scaffolding out of my truck and tear off the driver door panel off to replace the window motor, but this is immensely more entertaining.

I've had bad feelings about this tophat thingy for a while. I hope my concern is misplaced, but what I'm thinking is similar to the hoods we had over our industrial ovens in our forge for making steel springs. And the concept isn't too different from a simple vent-a-hood over your stove. You have a funnel above from which to send your unwanted substance into a tunnel, up and out! But when that funnel can't take it, the substance comes back down and out the lower sides. Thus, leaking still. And the joint where the hood and the pipe meets leaks, too.

I hope they're using something that's been used for this purpose before.

Soon, we'll hear from all the drillers that ALL pipes leak and for us to get over it. I never thought they had locktite fittings to begin with, but I bet somewhere we'll be hearing about this commonality.

Sure I have, but it's not the same issue with oil. Not saying some liberal dip:poop: won't try to make the connection. I would just be surprised if Obama did.

Surprise!

I tell you, it is mind boggling to watch all that oil blasting up through the water.

Good thing Obama and Holder are on top of things. A criminal investigation is just the ticket to fixing things. imagine how bad this would be if they weren't involved.

cnn.com and hit the live video link under the left picture. BP has a stream too, but CNN's video is better

You mean, it's like the paparazzi down there? Bunch of cameras elbowing each other for the best shots? Like that joke about 1,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean.
