Just installed it last night. I played it for about 30 minutes. Looks just like Fallout 3. I do like some of the different choices you get on ammo etc... I will probably spend all weekend glued to my computer playing it.

I still haven't completed Fallout 3. I gave up on the story line, which was decent enough, and just roam the countryside doing all the side quests. The game is fantastic. I don't even have all the expansions to it. I would like them, but I am not made of money.

I have about 5 or 6 games right now that I am in the middle of.

Red Dead: Redemption, Bioshock II, GTA:IV, Fallout 3, Forza III and it seems there might be another. I might go a month at a time without playing, then spend an entire weekend plugged in.

Oh, Left 4 Dead 2, which I have beat on single player, I just can't ever find a regular group to play on XBL with.

This is of course taking into account that I can get my wife and daughter off of the XBOX and XBL (thank you Netflix) long enough to play anything.

I bet you could never tell by my avatar, but I really like Fallout 3. I'll probably buy Vegas sometime down the road, but I'm still not done with Fallout 3 yet, and Guild Wars still takes up its fair share of time.

Well if you like Fallout 3, then you will like New Vegas. Just got through playing for 1.5 hours. It is like playing a large expansion pack to Fallout 3 except with some extra goodies. I quit when I got killed by 3 giant radscorpions. If it wasn't for the Mass Effect series, Fallout 3 would have been my all-time favorite rpg. I can't wait till next year, they are gonna be coming out with some awesome stuff.

Just to name a few:

Dragon's Age II

Mass Effect III

Witcher II

Crysis II

Dead Space II

Deus Ex III

I wish they would get it together and put out Hitman 5.

Well crap, ran into a little bit of a problem. I went to restart my game and load up where I left off. The saved game isn't there. Everything I did tonight was a waste. I googled save bugs with New Vegas. It seems there are numerous issues with NV, one of them being a save bug. Since I was just doing a little bit of local exploring and looting, I wasn't manually saving my game. I was allowing the autosave to keep track of my progress. Apparently it didn't work tonight.

I know a lot of games have bugs in them, but sheesh, you would think that a game of this caliber and level of anticipation that Bethesda might copy Bioware (Mass Effect and Dragon Age) and not put out a game with a serious bug in it.

Yeah the bugs are definitely annoying but fortunately Bethesda said they are aware and are planning a patch release very soon. The most annoying one I've found so far is the invisible weapons. Grr....

-Edit: Patch is out for the PC. TBA for PS3 and 360

Been playing it with the little bit of extra time I have had. A whole lotta fun....hardcore is a whole lot harder and a time-suck but I do like the realism(if there is such a thing in games) of it. Still using the lockpick/computer cheat (access console) so I dont put any points in lockpick...still do in science so i can get "hack" points. I still can't quit sinking heavy points in intelligence for the skill points so I usually end up with a smart character that is mediocre in everything else. Radscorpions are a lot tougher then they used to be...one giant radscorpion had me hacking and retreating for the better part of 20mins lol. I bought the pc version at best buy and with my "old" 9800gtx+ I can still tell the graphics are quite a bit smoother then fallout 3. I got the mercenary pack and while the 40mm grenade launcher is deadly on flesh and unarmored creatures its pure suck against anything with a carapace or heavy armor.

What an old thread, and no new one for Fallout 4?

I'm not sure how I feel about Fallout 4, there were only a few realistic guns in them, the rest are mostly just rusty pipes. New Vegas had AK, AR, M16, M4, 1911, etc. That was a huge plus for the game.
