The West Nashville contingent had a good first meeting. Thanks to TrekBike, Ebow1 and MonkeyLizard for showing up.

We discussed various prep scenarios, our skill levels and ways that we might provide assistance to each other in an emergency situation. We didn't get into any serious planning, but it was good to put names to faces.

We are planning a second get together before too long out at the range. If anyone else would like to be included in that get together as well as the mailing list we are starting, please PM me and I'll be sure to include you.

Fellas,

Haven't been on the forum in a few weeks but I am also in Bellevue and would love to meet up with you guys at some point. Feel free to add me to the mailing list and let me know when we can meet-up. I am self employed so schedule is fairly flexible.

Alright people, we have a group made. West Nashville Response Group. This will be the main method of coordination from here on out. Emails will be used as backups or for important info I need to be certain people are aware of. Feel free to join the group and post your email address if I don't already have it, or send it to me in a pm if you don't like everybody on tgo being able to see it.

I know I am a newbie to this forum but I am not a newbie to prepping. I'd love to be a part of this group as most of my academic compatriots laugh and scoff at the idea of self-reliance. If I hear one more time: 'REALLY? You have a gun?! Why?!' I'll lose all faith in humanity. If this is still going on, or anyone is interested in starting it up again, pm me. I am located off charlotte pike closer to downtown than walmart but I spend a lot of time near Vandy, Music Row, and Downtown.

Posting this in response to the TGO Rendevous Points thread. I just feel we need to start organizing the various areas into their own threads to make it easier for everyone to figure out what they're getting involved in and with who. I'm posting this one for those in the Nashville area to voice their willingness and hopefully establish a coordinator for the area.

What Rendevous Points thread? I tried searching for it.

I'm new to the group and the title caught my eye. I work in La Vergne but live on the North side of Murfreesboro, not far from Siegle high school.

This thread had a lot of potential initially but I don't know if any of us have really considered the logistics of actually coordinating any sort of emergency assistance. Communication would be king in the event that things go pear shaped and depending on what sort of emergency we're talking about, that could mean anything other than electronic communication.

Still, I am an Amateur Radio (HAM) operator and keep a portable unit in my supplies, and also have a mobile unit in my vehicle. Hopefully those would be useful and operational in the event of an emergency.
