Is it possible to remove and recut the rear slide serrations on a 1911?

The reason I ask is i really like the para p14.45 with light rail, only thing i dont like is the gi sights which i know can be removed and have dovetails cut in, and the vertical rear slide serrations.

I dont care for all the extras on the p14.45 tactical. Would it be possible to swap slides with a tactical? Does a standard 1911 slide fit a para or not?

It is possible depending on how deep the current serrations are. I changed the design on a Sigma 9mm slide years ago. Looked awesome when it was done. And have thought about doing a Colt 1911 slide, but decided to leave it alone and sold it. Of course, having the right equipment is whats important when considering the kind of mod. This definitely isnt a drill press and Dremel tool job...

Do you have any pics of the Sigma? I would love to see it.

Removing them won't do anything structurally to the slide. It'll remove a little weight which will has spring/cyclic speed considerations

Re-cutting them could affect the structure of the slide, depending on where, how many, how deep, etc.

It's a whole lot easier to cut metal away than to add it back.
