I'm looking to buy a compact pistol to carry more easily than my full size. I have not had an opportunity to shoot the .45 M&P compact nor the .40. I have shot the 9mm, but prefer a larger caliber. Anyone had any experience shooting either of the aforementioned pistols? Thanks for your input!

Being there is a size difference between those two and the 40 being the same size as the 9mm, the 40 conceals a little better. I personally prefer the 45m&p over just about every other 45 made. I'm like my 40's in glocks but don't care for any of the 45 Glocks.

Id go check em out and handle em a lil before you decide. I held the 45c at Benton shooters last month and i was really impressed and the price was about same as the Glock. I lean towards the 45 acp but thats my favorite rd maybe you dont mind the snap of the 40.

The .45 M&P compact is not much larger than the .40/9 width wise. I'd take the .45 over the .40 especially in the compact. It is a nice handling gun. You gain nothing with the .40 over the .45 in the compact.
