Google screws gun comunity on 1 July

Recommended Posts

This is from an email we received from Google.

We put our online inventory on google shopping, but will not be allowed anymore as of 1 July according to them.

We spoke with Google reps on the phone to verify this policy change and there is no way around it.

I wouldn't put it out there if it wasn't true. Especially something that affects my business they way this does.

Out of curiosity, how much of your business comes through Google? I know y'all have a stellar reputation via word of mouth and here on TGO.

Its not a huge amount, but its the principle and the fact that they are shutting down another avenue of business for small gun stores and gun enthusiests.

Yep, I'm sure I'm like many millions of other users, when I want to know the average/best price on a firearm (or probably more often, a knife) I generally always just hit Google Shopping first to get an idea.

I quit using google search a while back because of their privacy policy. I can probably wean myself off of google Chrome even though it is faster and simpler than most other browsers. But I hate, I mean HATE, changing email addresses. I've been using gmail for years now.

Here is a little google-related short fiction story from 5 years ago. Some folks have been watching big brother google for awhile. It isn't a long read--
