Local scissor sharpening

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of Wiss shears that I got from my grandfather several years ago. He used them at his upholstery shop for almost 30 years and they are getting a bit dull and have a small catch in them.

Where can I get them sharpened near Nashville?

Get the Spyderco sharpening system and learn to do them yourself. With a little time you will have it down. However, dont let that little secret out. Last year I let it slip to my sons kindergarten teacher so I started sharpening her scissors. These day I get to sharpen all the scissors plus some of them from home. LOL

a good flat stone and follow your angles it is like sharpening 2 chisels nsharpen each angle then draw across the flat edge to remove the burr

use a sharpie to see if you are at the proper angle, we used to do them all the time at every sail loft I worked at some upholstery shops have a jig to use they may do yours for a small fee
