Picked her up yesterday. Put about 100 rounds through her today. Smooth. It won't take long to get used to her. A lot easier to handle than my chief spl.

I like the lable on the side of the case: NOT LEGAL IN CALIFORNIA

For those of you that own this gun, why did you choose it over the compact model w/3" barrel?

I have fairly large hands, and compacts are far too small for me. I guess I could go with one that allows for a magazine extension, but IMHO, that just looks silly. A full size grip with a short barrel just doesn't look right to me.

The 4" is perfect for me.

Tell me about the 4" in terms of concealability . . .

Gotcha . . . just trying to get it in my mind. :D

However the grip is about an inch longer and the grip is the hardest part to conceal on any gun.

Can't carry in public yet, but went by and got an Uncle Mikes's IWB, less than $15 tax and all. Put in on with the XD, walked in the kitchen and asked my wife,"do you notice anything different?", held out my arms and turned around.

"Oh, you've lost some weight." :D
