Taurus Mil. Pro 145PT. 45c vs. Springfield XD Sub 9mm

I held the small 9mm XD today for the first time.

Wow, really nice.

The trigger is beyond belief great - it loads up just perfect so you know exactly the release point, and what a smooth gentle snick that release is!

I still love my Kahr, it being still smaller yet, but since I've got two guns in the other two calibers I've settled on, thinking seriously about this being my second 9mm.

+1, with the possible exception of the Beretta clones.

Those of you that have had trouble-free Taurus Mils, good on you, but I've seen/heard of way too many that don't work worth a crap.

And, lately, Taurus customer service SUCKS. Dustin has experienced this first hand.

"lately"? Taurus "sales prevention service" has sucked since it was started. The taurus being discussed may be the best pistol ever made until a part or service is needed. Plan on waiting a year.

I should clarify...I only said "lately" because of a good experience I actually had with Taurus about 10 years ago.

I had bought a USED M94 that was in great shape. Took it to the range and it was horribly inaccurate. Upon closer inspection, I finally noticed that the barrel crown was all dinged up. I contacted Taurus and they recrowned the barrel free of charge...even knowing that I wasn't the original owner. After that, the revolver shot great.

Having said all that, I've talked to several people lately (Dustin being one of them) who have experienced terrible customer service from Taurus.

Dustin had a Taurus .44mag that didn't make it through the 1st cylinder of ammo before it went toes-up...they gave him bad run-around.
