So, his family continued to be complete a$$ about the whole situation? Last I heard, they didn't know what was going to happen without the family signing some papers.

I didn't realize you could bury a person just anywhere. I was under the impression it had to be in a cemetery. Sounds like a great place was chosen.

well, a great lady named Theresa McMahan, the regional director of the library board, persisted with the nephew until he signed a letter allowing the cremation of Shannon's remains, and washing his hands of all obligation. that cleared the way for us to carry out Shannon's wishes.

as for burying a person where you will, It may be different if he weren't cremated..but I doubt it. this is Private property. if we wanted to establish a cemetery, for our family, I doubt anyone would be able to say anything.

Tower a heartfelt thank's to you and Mark for providing a final resting place for Shannon. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but i enjoyed his post's. I feel he was a man that loved his country and gave his best for it.

I haven't been on in a while. Very to sorry to hear of Marswolf passing. I remember some of my first posts here and how "opinionated" he was in reply. NEVER disrespectful though and always very entertaining. It didn't take me long as a newbie to figure out he was a man to be listened to. I will miss him on this forum.:D

He was my pal. I will miss his conversations as well. As for providing him a place...I don't have many friends...he was one.

I was off of this board for a few months- stuff happens. I got back on yesterday-- wondered where Mars was. Found this thread.

RIP Soldier. A toast, and a hooah or two, and another toast. And maybe another toast... we are only 4 years apart in years. I wonder if I will make a similar decision at some point...

Next magazine through my Glock is dedicated to you. Maybe I'll have a Kaboom in your honor.
