Wal-mart is Capitalism at its best. Sam Walton didnt make it a success over night. I hate hearing people b*tch about Wal-Mart. They might annihilate other stores but thats capitalism in action and this almost always benefits the consumer. When wal-mart started shutting out food stores they didnt raise their prices later...they still stay low. I have family that worked/works at wal-mart and they speak perfect English. I get so tired of people complaining about Wal-Mart.

I hit Wal-Mart once a week at least. It's one of the few places I can count on having everything I need in one stop.

That said, I like to support local retailers, WHEN I CAN.

I agree completely. If it wasnt for Wal-Mart though honestly life would be way harder $$$ wise. Dont forget that though Wal-mart might shut down a mom/pop store in the community the extra revenue and jobs they bring in more then compensates and benefits the community in which they are based.

Not to mention they sell Murphy Gas (which I hear isn't processed from sandbox oil) on the cheap where I live! :dirty:

Bottom line is their will always be two camps on Wal-Mart because they ARE the greatest example of the American Dream/capitalism.

1. Those who hate WM because they have subscribed to the union/socialist propaganda on the evil empire, whether they are are aware of where that hatred comes from or not

and.....

2. Those who have worked for or understand the beauty of WMs implementations in the market place.

I am unabashedly in the 2nd group!

And group 3. Those who appreciate Wal-Mart's success but refuse to support Wal-Mart because they believe many of the practices are unethical and although having Wal-Mart around may lower prices, there is no free lunch and you lose customer service and quality.

HaHa I'd still put that in #1.:drama: I hear what your saying, but to demand perfection is unreasonable. The reason the market exist for Wal-mart is because the mom and pops aren't perfect either. There are trade offs for sure and the market likes Wal-mart more..... a lot more. It is pure democracy in action.

I really dont understand how people dont see the fact that the current state of the economy is the peoples fault. We dont need to bailout anybody... the people are the reason why companies are going out of business because we arent spending. Consumer prices are down and gas is down. It cost me 20 bucks to fill up my car where last month it was around 40. Thats 20 more dollars i have now that i could spend on something that i might need or even want that i couldnt afford before. If you have a stable job and you have a little extra income spend it! I'm not saying spend money you dont have... but with the way prices are dropping it does allow a little more spending money. Been putting off fixing the deck? Nows the time to do it.

Sending more money to Wall Street doesnt do :D. Wall street is just pushing money around.... moving it here and then there.

*rant over* :drama:

You got that :drama: right buddy. You're better off to check out at the self check register, most of 'em either can't speak english, or was alive when they invented english.

I got nothing against Wallyworld's success, and I don't think they should ever be penalized for it, but that doesn't change the fact that they suck donkey.

I'd rather get an enema than go to China Mart!

I love Wal-Mart. I don't care if they can't speak English nobody in this country can anymore. They are cheap and only there to serve me cheaply. I could care less if the chick the nose ring making 6 bucks an hour is nice to me. I want my damn pork rinds and Sam's Choice Cola. I live in Memphis though so I have low expectations of customer service and life in general...

Yeah I see the facts about Walmart but I don't see the facts comparing to how they could help the bailout or even relate to it.

Umm, if Wal-Mart did the bail out my tax dollars wouldn't be used - PLUS

Wal-Mart would own the companies - minus

Wal-Mart makes enough via it's stores to cover a long strike by the UAW - PLUS PLUS

Wal-Mart would be a true monopoly of the economy - minus

Wal-Mart's board has more economic sense than the Fed, Fed Reserve, Fed Treasury, and the CEO's that drove the non-automakers into bankruptcy combined. - PLUS

Can't see how it would be a overall negative.
