  1. From years back there use to be more variety by military fly- bys. But still a great show for the kids. Right up there with Mom and apple pie!
  2. Nope, nobody said that at all.  You are on much more defensible ground in your own home IF everything is legit and you are not drunk.  Alcohol always has the chance to alter outcomes, especially where firearms are concerned.  But one footnote; if you drink at home and then leave you are at some risk should you have an encounter with LE.  The potential is there to be   ' under the influence'.  No different from leaving the bar, or even your home after taking something like a narcotic and then driving.

    Benelli 828

I am sure it is a decent shotgun, but to my feel just seemed too different...not really solid.  I've shot tons of clays hard to get away from Berretta and Browning for the money.  Also very good used markets for those I mentioned, not sure how the longevity or used market will be for Benelli.
  4. JayC, yes I understand but there is a difference between consumption vs. influence.  Again I will let someone else clarify that at their peril.  As an instructor I am not going to increase my liability by saying any amount of alcohol would be acceptable.  I can see it now, a former student before the judge and jury saying that their instructor told them that they could go ahead and have a beer or two and nobody would care.
  5. http://www.sigsauer.com/LawEnforcement/Le-Mil-Individual-Officer-Program.aspx Link for Sig. LE dealers. Also some listings on Gun Broker.
  6. The video explains varying levels of "influence". That would seem that any alcohol would violate 39-17-1321(a). For me, I will continue to teach that it is zero tolerance until someone argues successfully - on their dime - otherwise.
  7. Any specific gun mfg.?
  8. OK....please explain how one would justify drinking per TCA.
  9. And IMO the video spends way too much time addressing alcohol.  Basically all they need to say is if one is carrying a firearm you cannot consume alcohol....zero, nadda, zilch.
  10. Dave the classes have outlines which have to be followed, to include certain videos. There are also discussions which include various topics of law. Those things you mentioned I bring up just for the reason you gave. One other reason it may keep one from having to guess what size bore they are staring at.
  11. As you stated, it is erroneous and misleading about the 'stops' and inform.  I don't think it is a bad idea, just not a requirement as it is in some states.  However, it is required to be shown in HCP classes.
  12. Its a wonder the 1911 has survived all these years with that complex thumb safety.
  13. Regarding "really bad suggestions", in video or thread?
  14.     PM me. We can fix that I believe. Available most mornings.
  15. Buds in Sevierville
  16. K191145, not trying to take sides, but to me, shooting someone is the last thing on my list.  In your posts, which IMO could be used against you, I don't think you are leaving yourself much wiggle room.  Really doesn't matter what a deputy thinks.  It may come to a jury that matters.  I understand the concept of self-defense, but pushing the issue over property may not be worth your time and money.  Not saying let anyone kart your stuff off.  But again in reference to your posts and your defense I think even your avatar will be used against you.
  17. I have had one for 3 years.  I have loaded 9mm  and 45ACP routinely.  Comparable to the D 650.  Has 5 die slots.  Very happy.  Friend of mine loads other calibers.  Welcome to come by and take a look.  Nothing but good to say about customer support...if needed.
  18.     Understand.  However if TWRA didn't take it over the range was going to be closed.  For some shooters it is a good option, and at least a decent range inside the city limits which is a rarity.
  19. Have you got proof? From what I have heard from him and from his kids, they are very much pro gun, including class 3 stuff. Also Trump has done avery good job at raising successful kids. Don't hear of them getting into any trouble. Look at his campaign funds.....more bang for the buck with the political machine spending millions more against him. Milloms have voted for him, he has bested 16 other smart, successful canidates. If nothing else it has to be Trump...anyone but Hillary because it can get much worse.
  20. Hell! Everyone was carrying at my wedding too....just to make sure I didn't run out. Plus it was all open carry at shotgun weddings
  21. Yes, the Duty Treat finish is $300 more than stainless on the Dan Wesson.  I understand mistakes, can't stand the attitude though.  It was handled poorly.  Don't blame you for your course of action.  Smart not taking possession of the gun.  Let them eat the return and the gun.  Notify CC company and contest the charges.
  22. What a story!  Interesting he carries a 9 now instead of a .45.  Ammo count higher I guess is the reason.
