Alcoa Walmarts been out for awhile also. Went across the street to Dick's and they are out also. Guy said the truck comes in, and if there is .22 ammo, it's gone by afternoon.

I did use the word "soldiers" but not to indicate that Yaeger was one. I was simply referring to the fact that there is an outpouring of "Welcome Home" for those who served there, unlike VietNam.

AAR: Make your own knife class with Spots
jaxjohn419 replied to Sandman's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I absolutely concur. Spots and his Dad were truly welcoming. My son and I had a great time there a couple months ago. I am looking forward to hanging out with them again. -
thanks for the advice guys...

I bought a Rossi Youth .22lr/20g combo with a scope at the Gun Show. I heard that they also have a .243 barrel as well. does anyone know if thats true, or if so, where they might sell one. I'd like to give my 8yr old the whole thing for xmas, with the 3 barrels.

I was actually surprised that no one has mentioned a get together on what could be our last day as a society. I figured there'd be at least one rendezvous for some of us prepper types to camp out and team up JUST IN CASE.....
I can't call anyone who has what it takes to go over there and get shot at a coward, but he does come off as a complete tool. If nothing else just that goatee, good lord dude.
and after no-shave November, I can't say #### about that goatee!

I have never heard of this guy or incident, but I am curious about what happened. Here is a link of reports and documents about the incidents in Iraq. I have no dog in this hunt, but I do respect anyone that put their lives at risk over there, whether in battle dress or civies, getting paid or not. That #### was our generations Vietnam, but thankfully, with love and respect for the soldiers coming home. God bless them all. Haven't gotten anything yet, but extremely excited! This was a great idea, and Thanks to MetalHead for putting it together. Unlike ones I have been forced into in office environments, this is very fun. Voluntary participation makes for more meaningful thoughts and gifts...

Made sure my profile had some solid info after reading these posts about no one putting info. Then realized that my person was complaining about it too, but HIS PROFILE IS BLANK TOO! lol

300 Blackout as a "End of Times" caliber
jaxjohn419 replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Survival and Preparedness
You can use ANY bullet designed for any 30 caliber rifle. It can be a bullet for a 30 Carbine or for a 300 Winmag. The 300 will be able to use it. This makes finding bullets for reloading easier.
Can you re-qualify this? Any 30 caliber? -
Pelanchos is posted NO CARRY. I will never go there.
-
I have a Rossi snub-nose .357 mag for the nightstand. The wife and I both have Glock 19s for carry, but if I need to grab and shoot in the middle of the night, I want the stopping power. Also, the wife likes the simplicity of revolver vs automatic, especially if something happens in low light situation. She had it out on the countertop when I got back from the TGO Rendezvous this past weekend. I was very pleased that she thought ahead while I was gone. I would only get rid of it if there was a 1911 owner that wanted to work a deal.

Had an awesome time. Food was great and your dad was funny as heck. I look forward to getting out there again. Thanks for putting this event on. The wife was disappointed she didn't come out. I think she'd have enjoyed the blacksmithing.

I am a new bow hunter. I went on two hunts so far, and haven't even seen a deer. I am in Blount County, and went a checked out Foothills WMA, but it's not too open for hunting, and I have heard that there's not a lot of deer there. Any suggestions on a location to try? I will be out rifle hunting as well, but I would like to get one deer at least by bow.

Thanks for the story. I will be posting this on my 2nd Amendment Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/2nd-Amendment/215558845416?ref=mf

My fam will be coming out Saturday morning. Is there an approximate time for smithing and trade blanket? Also, any other plans for instruction/classes on anything?

I updated my profile as soon as I said that I am in this Secret Santa. When someone gets my name, they can just view it and see, rather than everyone having to read what I like... just sayin'...

I am in. Participants should edit their profile to let people know their interests, favorite calibers, hobbies, etc... That would help us all, agreed?
