  1. I wonder what effects it might have on a handguns rifling after a few thousand rnds. but you probably couldn't afford to shoot that many. I would like to get some .45  and give it a try.
  2. I'll probably pick up one of their shot guns, and I'm glad they chose TN. to build their factory we could use some more gun manufactures to move here.
  3. Has anyone heard of this, wondering were I could find some load data on it?

    advice needed

If your used to carrying a 1911 (I assume you carry it in the cocked-an-lock) I would stick with that style of gun, nothing wrong with all the suggestions that everyone gave you on the Glocks ,Nanos,ect.... I carry a full size 1911 almost everyday I use a IWB. Holster and it works for me. I used to switch my carry guns up from one brand to another (I had a H&K P2000sk in 357sig.and a Glock in the same caliber) my problem was trying to train myself to remember to flip the thumb safety off my 1911 once I switched back to it during practice one day I drew my 1911 and pulled the trigger and nothing two more tries and I realized it's not like my H&K or Glock, so I sold those two and retrained myself back to the 1911 platform, now don't bash me for doing that they were both super guns and never let me down I just prefer the 1911 handguns. This being said look for a smaller Colt or a Lightweight Frame style 1911 if you carry this type every day that way if God forbid you ever need it to defend your self or family you will know how to work it from muscle memory and not be looking for the thumb safety to flip off or pull the trigger and nothing. Remember no matter what you carry you need to practice, and practice some more.

    Best Custom 1911

The above post is right on the money. I to have a Nighthawk GRP Custom I had made in early 2011 and has run flawless for 6500rnds. I sent this one off to a Alchemy Custom Weapons in Genso IL. for some personal attention upon receiving it they did tell me that the tip of the ejector was broke off and he would call Nighthawk and get them to send him one,the other 1911's I own are a Les Baer UTC that has run 2800rnds. with out a problem I also have a Thunder Ranch Special on order w/ some custom extras I wanted. My Wilson Combat CQB ELITE w/all bullet proof parts will be here this month(praying)can't wait to see how it runs. I bought a Ed Brown SPEDIAL FORCES from a member here and after 500rnds. of mixed ammo, my hand loads, factory hardball, and some +P's with out a problem it is now my daily carry gun until my GRP gets' done and back home.I personally will only buy from the above manufactures and my next will be a Nighthawk Predator in 45 or 10mm.
  6. That will never happen!! that photo has been around for a couple of years.
  7. I've heard of Bellshire Hardware but exactly were is he located at off Dickerson rd.?
  8. I have a Ruger Single Six .22 made in 1954 that my father bought new for $58 when he returned home from the Korean War he gave it to me when I was ten and now I'm fourty six and still have that old gun.Not much to look at now but it brings back some good memories.
  9. I was on another site and some other people were complaining about the same company with the same results as you.I would contact my credit card co. and dispute the charge if they have already charged your card keep trying to get a hold of them and cancel your order and find another Kydex holster maker I just had two made by this maker www.jmcustomkydex.com and he made each in about 6 weeks each,I ordered one w/ double mag pouch and after receiving it and wearing it for a couple of weeks I ordered another w/ different cant to it and they were right at 5-6 weeks to get.
  10. Sound like your sear spring needs to be re-bent but be careful you can put to much tension on it,like the post above start with the cheapest parts first. If it continues to go full auto stop and take it to a qualified gunsmith that knows 1911's.
  11. Go check out www.bladehq.com they have the best prices going,I buy most of  my knives there.I never realy understood that in TN.you can buy and own them for collecting purpose but can't carry them, but I still carry my Halo V with me all the time.
  12. +1 for George at GunSlinger's,and if you want a Les Baer call Crazy John at 1911 Heaven.
  13. Wilson's are worth the price, but you need to find you a master dealer to order through.I just placed an order for a Wilson CQB Elite w/ Bull Bbl.Mag Well,Black Armour Tough finish,Night Sites, and a few extras's.Cost $3495 shipped,Wilson's price $3600+ and a two year wait, the dealer I used saved me quite a bit and he was told a year wait,he made a phone call and it will be ready in 4 months so yes I think they are worth it,but you need to shop a round before you take the plunge.I also have a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special being built and I gave $1965 shipped to my dealer, like I said if you want to spend that kind of money just shop around.
  14. I sent you a PM with some info.just let me know if you want to take me up on my offer anytime,.
  15. Call Crazy John at 1911 HEAVEN and get a Les Baer UTC he will treat you right.
  16. why is legal for Police,Millatry, and Recue Personal(Fire Dept.) to carry a switchblade but for a ordinary law biding person can't ,the Sheriffs Assoc.is a joke and to make comments that a SwitchBlade sounds like a pump action shotgun just goes to show what dumb asses that they are.
  17. Call Crazy John at 1911 Heaven, you can get a Les Baer new for around $1700 + shp.hand.I just ordered a Thunder Ranch Special with some custom features and spent only $1965 shipped to my dealer. 208-772-2339 give him a call and see what he has in stock sometimes he runs some specials, but you have to call his web site is well......
  18. Nice choice in ordering those, you'll like them for sure.
  19. The line was long,I bought some primers, and sold a few items just as I got inside the door.Might go back tommorow and see what I can find.

    help picking 45

If you want to stay under a $1000 for a 1911,try looking at the Springfield Range Officer I picked mine up for about $780 total (with tax and backround) and it shoots as good as my NightHawk GRP,and my Wilson Combat CQB LE.
  21. Some of the Colts I've come in contact with, in the condition you drscribed(40-50%)have been in the $1000-$1400 range but like Garufa stated it's hard to give a price without seeing or inspecting, check and make sure the no#'s all match and look for the proof marks.Remember it's worth only what someone is willing to pay,if you like it and feel comfortable about trading even then go for it.
  22. I went Sat. morning, not a bad show, but the $10 addim.fee well..........any way it seemed there were a fair amount of tabels set up and a few deals, but I left and went to D&T Arms and bought a SpringField Armory Range Officer for a better deal than I could get at the show, but I'll go back to the next one when ever they have it.
  23. I carry the Halo V out the front and I won't carry anything but that.
