    Opinions on Kel-tec

love mine. I would and do trust my life to both the P11 and P3AT. No issues with either. Never had a jam with either (1000+ rounds). The P11 is a very underated gun IMHO. As far as I know, no other 12 round 9mm is comaparable in size or wieght. I put a $10 trigger shoe on it and the trigger is much improved. Fit and finish is not great, but for A LOT LESS than you would expect, a guy right here in Tennessee will electroless nickle them for you. If they were not so darn reliable, I would put my 2 up as safe queens, cause they sure are purty.
  2. colt/umarex 1911 holds 12 rounds
  3. Yeah, I think one thing is for certain, somebody is out of the loop. The facebook post seem to confirm it, but it is still listed on their website. Wires are crossed somewhre. Anyway I guess we will find out. Heck maybe it is their plan to put a rumor out so people on the fence like me will go out and buy one. If so it might be working, because I got one
  4. From most of what I have read the SD uses Sigma Mags and Holsters. A quick search internet search showed both M&P and Sigma mags at $29 most places.
  5. Here is a link to the Facebook post in question. Brad Paynter from S&W made the comments comfiring they have been discontinued. Who knows. http://www.facebook.com/smithwessoncorp/posts/10150645331538960 http://www.facebook.com/smithwessoncorp/posts/10150658994588960
  6. I just wanted to give a heads up for those on the Mississippi side of Memphis. I was in Sportman's Wharehouse in Southaven MS yesterday and they had the Kahr CW series (9, 45, 40) new for $329!! Maybe I am wrong, but this seemed like a screaming good deal to me. Davidson's Gallery of Guns list it shipped to my FFL for $429 (tax and fees included), and Buds list the for around $366 + fees. Are the prices coming down on these guns everywhere?
  7. From S&W offical facebook page the SD9 & SD40 are being discontinued. I have been wanting one for a while. Most reviews seem positive. The "worst" reviews seem to call it an upgraded Sigma (better trigger, sights, finish). The Sigma seems to get great reviews (minus the trigger) so an updated version seems like a good thing to me. I decided to go ahead and get it since it was being discontinued. I figured if I wanted one new, I need to bite the bullet. I have never bought a gun before because it was being discontinued. What are your opinions on the SD series, and have you ever bought a gun when you realized it was being discontinued? before I put the money down, I compared it to the Sigma and the M&P. the price difference was: (Only shop in town with a SD9 in stock...Sportsman's Wharehouse) Sigma $339 SD9 $379 M&P $519 I could deffinately justify pay $40 more for the SD vs Sigma, but I could not justify paying $140 more for the M&P vs SD. The trigger is better on the M&P, but not $140 more IMHO Pictures and range report coming!
  8. The Sportman's Wharehouse in Southaven much better prices on reloading supplies than Bass Pro or any other place (that I know of) in metro Memphis. I know it is in MS so that might not be an option if you are handgun shopping, but for reloading it is the way to go. Also if you are in Southaven there is a great pawn shop with a decent used gun selection. Dabbs on HWY 51. Also just down the road in Olive Branch there are 2 pretty good gun shops. The Gun Exchange and Double Barrel. The owner at Double Barrel is a heck of a good guy. Very friendly.

    Smith&Wesson 5906

Best range semi auto gun I own. Never jams, very little reciol, accurate, fits and points naturally in my hand. The only seimi I have seriously considered getting a 2nd one of. Got mine from CDNN for $299
  10. Do you have any pics of the Sigma? I would love to see it.
  11. There is a company from Tennessee that sales "reloaded" ammo, I can't remeber the name, but they come in an orange box. I used to get them before I started reloading and they seemed to be pretty reasonable on price. A couple of local gun stores here in memphis carried them. Maybe somebody here know what I am talking about and can tell you more about them. Orange box with the shape if TN on it.
  12. Have ordered a S&W 5906 and a Kel Tec P3AT from them. great prices, fast shipping, friendly service. Was a little hesitant on ordering the 5906 b/c it was used, but it came to me in great condition.
  13. To each his own, but that is the ugliest gun I have ever seen
  14. It was announced before the SR22 but it will be interesting to see how they compare over the long term
  15. S&W M&P
  16. I would be proud to own it.
  17. What about it did you hate. The only bad thing I have really heard from the newer ones is trigger
  18. I have a nagging desire to get one also. I kinda have a thing for small guns. Does anyone know if the topbreak ones can be bought. I have read about them, but never seen one for sale (in person or online)
  19. Did you have to pay to ship it back rhe 2nd time? I would hope they at least covered that.
  20. Can you explain why you would even consider the 22 mag
  21. Should be noted that I live in Memphis, so I did not mail them. He does do fast work though
  22. It took around 2 weeks. Hopefully I will get to shoot them next week
  23. Just got my Kel Tec slides back from having them Electroless Nickel Plated. A P11 and P3AT. They look great. A huge improvement over the factory blueing. Done by a gentleman in Memphis. Mickey is a great guy to work with. BillDeShivs!, Both done for a total of $70.00 Pictures do not do them justice
  24. Wait, what happened to the Colt SA Army

    blacken stainless?

I do not know anything about them personally, but Taurus sells a "black stainless' version of some of their autos. They still sell the blued version so this is completely different. ?you might want to look into what they do/offer
