Looking for a small frame .22 revolver - ideally either a Smith 63 or 317 kit gun. I am an adult, reasonable, non-felon, not-weird, not-a-flake Tennessee resident. If you are a TN resident who owns that sort of gun, then I am willing to meet within 30 minutes of Nashville, shake hands, show ID, sign a bill of sale, pay a fair price, and not wear saggy pants. I don't have experience with either, but I like using a 3x prism scope on an AR. For me it strikes the right balance between quick acquisition and helping see the 75-150 yard targets more clearly.

I don't think .38SPL or revolvers generally are disappearing any time soon. I bought a good electric drill, but I kept my screwdrivers (and revolvers) and still use them where it makes sense. Revolvers still have applications where they shine. I'm a 30-something year old, if that matters.

To me a trainer stops being top tier when he teaches there is just one right answer for all situations and threats. I was taught to choose tactics by looking at all relevant factors, such as the mission, enemy, terrain, time available, etc. For example, when hiking and camping near GSMNP, a bear encounter's more likely than a disarming and mugging, so I open carry then.

Check out Burris, too. I have used a 3x Burris prism scope (model 332, I think) in several run and gun matches and it works well. Inexpensive, too.

This. And I'm not saying the murder was justified; I'm saying a lot of prospective jurors would feel ripped off by insurance companies. It reminds me of the Bernie Goetz trial in NY years ago after he shot 4 or 5 would-be muggers. If memory serves, he was acquitted by the jury on all charges. What he said about the incident was something like, "Well, screw those guys - they... they were trying to rip me off!"
