  1. if you golf, go.  if not, you might be pressed to find something besides the beach.   except for Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth  (spoiler alert..........that water is nasty)
  2. I'd like to take a look at one locally.   Anyone have one that I could check out instead of buying sight unseen?   I'm in Mt Juliet.   Thanks!
  3. 2.26 is max for mag length, which is what most people load to
  4. I think the S&W M&P Sport is shipping without the 5R barrels but they are still a good bargain and a very good first AR (first because if you are like most, it won't be your last).   The more you research and ask about brands, the more opinions you'll get.
  5.   I received my approved Form 5320.20 to take my SBR into Kentucky.  The form was approved for Nov 2014 through Nov 2015.  Letter was approved/returned to me in less than 10 days.   In my experience, with NFA friendly states and provided you are going to a single address in the neighbor state, it's not a big deal.
  6.   I was sold on the 18" at first also, but when I saw the velocity numbers between that and the 16", I decided the maneuverability and weight savings was enough to offset the 50-100 fps loss.
  7.   great point about the mags.  I've only bought and tried PRI and they work for me.
  8. I've built two 6.8's and enjoy them both. One is a 16" SPR and the other is a 11.5" SBR. Most accurate loads for me shooting 110g Hornady HPBT and 115g Sierra MK HPBT bullets are with AA2200. I think you'll find that's the go to powder from the fine folks at 68forums My 16" barrel is from White Oak and shoots 3/4 MOA. My 11.5" is from Bison, currently loading up some 180g subsonic loads for it. The 180's will stabilize with its 1:7 twist.
  9. Sounds like she is!   Enjoy that RCBS.  It was my entry into reloading and I couldn't be happier!
  10. i had heard some people using Carbon Killer by SLIP 2000 with good results; not hazardous/harmful.
  11. old thread revival!   what would be the recommended cleaning method for a Sparrow?  I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner.
  12. Thanks for sharing, Greg.   This season, many look forward to watching certain movies, eating good food and opening presents.  While those things are nice, Christians look forward to the coming of Christ; not only in celebrating His birth but also His second coming.  For your dear Grandmother, she waits for that no longer.  Glory!
  13. ....or do these look a little off? Back to Brownells!
  14. it's always a frustrating time when expectations aren't met.  sorry that you can't get more clarity on the situation.   by contrast, i haven't had any issue with the uppers/lowers that i've bought from Aero.  perhaps the holiday strain/sales have put a kink in their system and shipping timelines.   hope it all gets resolved in time for Santa.
  15. good dude, and same height as me!
  16. better to find out flaws without ammo in the cylinder

Very nice.  I spy a Trifecta MAAD Brake.......nice touch.
  18. Agreed. Friend of mine found his ACOG less than ideal at the close distances of Fighting Rifle. You can certainly do it, but it helps if you know how to use the weapon system with that sight. I took the class with Aimpoints and would recommend them.
  19. Here at long last is a picture. I think it will actually be fine, just a small clearance.
