1. Bummer. Just picked up my 2nd Shield 9 today. In all honesty I didn't even look at it till I got it home. I'm like a kid at Christmas when my LGS.
2. Things are getting better. All across America 529 plans are now depleted.
3. We usually go up to Douglas lake mid march for the White Bass. Banks are lined full of rods, reels, and fish. Gonna try boating it this year!
4.
There must not be a hog problem in TN or the TWRA wouldn't have closed it. They always think ahead on things before acting on them.
:D
5. I called a little over a week after submitting my prints and paperwork. The lady i spoke to said everything was in order and it was on it's way. I think i only had to wait 2 1/2 weeks to get it total. I don't know if calling made a difference or not. Plus this was back when Bush was in office.
6. A Marlin 795 would be a great .22 choice. They can still be had for under $200. +1 for Ruger P series. You really can't go wrong with a Ruger P95 for an all around carry/home defense firearm. It has been the most reliable firearm i've ever owned.
7. I'm looking for a Shield as we speak. In all reality i'll probably wind up with an XDS for cheaper the way things are going.
8. Mmm, those are beautiful.
9. Just got a CTD catalog. Just checked the website. Just sold out. YESSSS! :)
10. Just saw it for the first time here in Erwin. Took 26 years, but man that was awesome. Can't wait till i'm 56! lol
11. To me Gen 3 was/is Glock perfection. Though i have never seen it happen, i have heard that people have dropped their mags do to that larger release being activated involuntarily. To each his own though.
12. I don't know why everyone's freaking out. No hi cap mags needed. I'm pushing for a 50 paces rule with my community watch. If you break into my house we shall have a duel in the driveway, winner takes all.
13. Sheep buyers. They saw everybody else buying up mags, so they bought them too.
14. That tale is often mistaken for blatant violence on the part of our townspeople. See what really happened was around that time a sensation known as "salt cured meat" was sweeping the eastern seaboard. So we thought what the hell, why not elephant! My great great uncle Jojo used always talk about how tough that burger was :)
15. Here in Erwin we have what's known as the "Hairy Man" who seems to have made his homestead near the North Carolina line. Part of the Appy trail is over that way as well. Pretty sure it's just random naked hikers running through the woods, but hell who knows.
16. Maybe you could melt them down, mold them into one "trillion dollar magazine", and deposit it into your safe. That way you'd never have to buy magazines again! Or, does that only pertain to our federal government and treasury law loopholes? :)
17. It looks like that bag found in Arlo's wall is going to be a plot point this season, instead of a one and done episode. Best line of the night; "Jesus Christ girl, you just showed me your tits twenty minutes ago!' lol
18. R.I.P. T-Dog / L.O.L. Lori Damn, Carl's got some blood on his hands. First Shane, now his own mom!?!? He sure is turning into a lil' badass. He and Herschel's daughter will end up hooking up, i just know it.
19.
Whilst travelling to Springfield TN, I had an interesting talk with a county LEO. He politely asked me "Do you have a round chambered?" I said "yes sir, I do. And also have my carry permit." Then the LEO told me something a little disturbing... Now, whether he was BSing me, I've no clue.... He told me that he could arrest me for having one in the chamber and asked me to return to my vehicle and unload my firearm... Yeah, I did as he asked since he was so nice about it but felt a little angry at this. I did not want to cause a scene, nor did I want confrontation privately between the officer and myself.
Haha, you should have just replied, "Yeah, don't you?!?"
20.
When I hike or fish, I like to OC. Don't worry too much about drawing fast on "scaled and furry foes", the one's you need to watch out for have actualy been walking upright for a couple million years now. My experiences while O/C outdoors is with TWRA/USFWS officers, and there is never a problem. I don't frequent state, city or county parks so I'm unhelpful there. Dave S
^^ It's the people you have to worry about. Most rangers i've talked to around here encourage carry either way. We get a lot of hikers through my town for the Appy trail. There have been several instances of assaults and even some rapes up there. They can't police every part of their jurisdiction at once. As far as the Ops original question, i have never had a problem with open carry in my neck of the woods... literally, lol.
21. I hope it doesn't overheat like in COD.... I hate that $@#!.
