  1. Very nice! I just got mine from CMP last week. New wood and barrel. 1.5 million serial number. Took four or five months but it was worth it. Happy shooting :)
  2. Awesome video. I was impressed by the strength of the wheels also. They look like carbon wheels. I did not think they could take the kind of side loads that they took in some of the tricks. This makes Peter Sagan's video of riding his bike up on top of his car look like a booger. :)
  3. You should go back. I went with my dad back in the 80's and loved it. I took my son back during the 100 years of flight celebration for the air show and the museum. I swear it was twice as big as when I was a kid. Plus you can take a tour of past Air Force One planes which was pretty cool. Sorry for the thread hi-jack :)
  4. That video was amazing. As a child of a retired Air Force Major, that really choked me up.   For those that like the Air and Space Muesum, you should visit the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. I really feel it blows the Smithsonian museum out of the water and I believe it is still free also. If you go, expect to spend a whole day. Even with that you will be pressed for time to see it all.
  5. Dude! What are you talking about? Cake is awesome. I love cake. :) All joking aside, I think this whole thing is a sad statement on where we are as a society. I feel the business owner should be able to compassionately tell the couple he is uncomfortable to make them a cake based on his religious beliefs and that those same customers, while disappointed, should be willing to respect his views and select a different baker. Now, if the guy was a jerk to them, then he brought the whole thing on himself. But I don't know, I wasn't there.
  6. I must respectfully disagree. Go Eagles!!!! :)
  7. I can't speak for other religions but I believe Christianity tells us to be compassionate to sinners and help them turn from their sin. I may be wrong but nowhere in the bible does it tell us to encourage sinful acts or to facilitate sinful deeds. I believe making a cake for a gay wedding would go against God's word and thus the owner was justified in not making the cake.
  8. ^^^ Beat me to it. Check what utilities are available and what future upgrades may be happening in the area. Contact the planning commission in the area that you are looking in to make sure that the adjoining land is not getting ready to be apartments, trailer parks, industrial buildings, etc. most people are selling for a reason, make sure you know what the facts are. Get it surveyed and find out if there are any easements encumbering the property. As a surveyor I have seen many properties that were "good deals" but had hidden problems. Know where your lines are when you buy. That way you won't have to worry about neighbors who try to encroach on you or tell "you" where the line should be. I am not trying to scare you or make you worry, just do your due diligence and you won't be surprised.
  9. Posted on my facebook page. I know several people in the middle TN area and asked that they keep an eye out.   I will pray for you and your family.
  10. Second one was ok but I liked the first one better. But that is the one I grew up with so I understand the younger guys liking the new one better.
  11. One thing to remember is that the man may have been acting in an aggressive manner toward the shooter. If you have been around people with dementia you know that sometimes their confusion will lead toward aggressive behavior, even violent at times. I saw my dad go through some of this toward the end and it was not pretty. We don't know how the man may have been acting at the time.
  12. Not surprised, but those viewers will return like moths to the flame. If they were foolish enough to believe them the first time, they will do it again. They have had five years of being lied to about the ACA and now they are finding out that places like Fox News were telling the truth about it the whole time. Sad really, but many of the people in this country can no longer think for them selves.
  13. The one here in Knoxville was/is named Life Star. It is affectionately known as the Death Star. Morbid yes, but the name fits, because it is never good when seen or needed. Usually someone is in bad shape when they need to be air lifted. When ever I see it fly over I think to myself that I hope that person will be ok and then usually ask God to look over them.
  14. I wonder if it was the same guy that was selling the boxes of 22 for $82. You could always go see him. I be the would sell you one for $75 for one can. He may even have it for $65 on Black Friday. :)
  15. Thanks for the help. I look forward to shooting it when it arrives.
  16. Those that have/had a K31, what do you use? Surplus or name brand ammunition (if available)? I just ordered one from AIM and don't know much about them. Thanks for any help.
  17. Norris is/was $30 a year if I remember correctly. It renews every June so if you join up now, you only get 6 months but it is pretty nice. Contact the Norris police department for information.
  18. Just thought of another one. I think it was called All Boats Away. I haven't seen that one in a long time.
  19. My dad flew the same type of helicopter (The one shot down in the rice patty) shown in Bat 21 in Vietnam in 69/70. He flew out of Danang with the Jolly Green Giants and they had the same mascot as the food company. He always said the PJs (the guys that went down the wire) were the most amazing men he had even known. He also had pictures of the helicopter that he was the copilot in on one mission that was shot all to hell. He said the enemy would wait until they dropped the pj out the door on the wire before they would open up on them. All they could do was have the door gunner open up on the position while the pj was pulled back up. Until then, they had to just hover and pray. It is also my understanding that downed pilots were given high priority like Gene Hackman in the movie simply based of the amount of training that is needed to prepare a new pilot. Basically, they were considered a commodity that could not be quickly replaced. My father also told me that jolly crews were given higher priority. Basically if they went down, the downed fighter pilot would have to wait until they were rescued before they were sent in to get him. Again, this was simply a supply and demand factor. There were only 9 to 10 jolly crews stationed in Danang at the time. Sorry to steal the thread there for a minute, but my dad was an amazing man and this hit close to home. Back on thread. I have seen almost all of the movies on this thread and have liked most of them. I was also glad someone else had seen Stalag 17 (notice my avatar). It is one of my favorite movies. Two that weren't mentioned that are some oldies but goodies are Operation Petticoat (a little silly) and Mr. Roberts (again, a little silly)
  20. I couldn't remember how many were in the big box. That was my best guess at 300 something. :)   There were two women at the counter when I left, was that them?
  21. Walmart at Walker Springs Road in Knoxville just put out 22lr. I bought 2 of the hundred round CCI for $7.47 each. There were at least 30 of the 100 round packs and they also had 10+/- boxes of the federal 333 round boxes for $17.47.
  22. Well said fellow surveyor. I still don't want their stations here though. :usa:
  23. I filled out the application, joined the GCA (you get a pretty good magazine about garands 4 times a year) and then had to show proof of my HCP. I also sent them my C&R papers as well just in case. I then ordered a garand over three months ago and am still waiting on it. Maybe I'll get it by Christmas. :pleased: Oh well, as long as I get it.
  24. IMHO, I have to say that as a Christian, I know gays are children of God. I also, realize that they are lost in their sin and could not be farther from God's grace if they tried. We are all born sinners, but as Christians we are to turn from sin and lean on God to get us through the trying times when our sinful heart tries to turn our back to God. Gays willfully live in sin so as a Christian it is had to support their life style. As for Jesus, I believe he would tell them the same thing he would tell any sinner. Follow God's word and turn from sin.
