1. What an interesting read. It's amusing to see how a certain few members seem so emotionally involved in this thread.    I don't have patience for people who drive slow in the left lane, or drive below the speed limit, especially when I'm in a hurry. If they have that much time to kill, move over and let me by!   I try to do the same for others who seem to be in a hurry when I'm driving at a more relaxed pace. I'll slow down in a passing zone on a 2-lane, or move back over to the right as soon as I can on a multi-lane. I'll gladly pull over on the shoulder for anyone with their flashers on. If nothing else, I might try to bump my speed up a little just to help them out, since I want the same thing done for me.   However, if I'm on a 2-lane road and someone is riding my tail and not taking advantage of passing zones, I like to knock my cruise control down one notch every 30 seconds. They usually go on a pass when they realize we're running 43mph.
2. I carry a Sig 938 when I CC and an FNX-9 when I OC. Astonishingly, I'm not arrogant, nor have I been shot first in a robbery attempt.
3. It will be July 1. Hopefully all the LEA's will take the time to undergo training regarding the new law.
4. This is great news for MS. It corrects the law to what the state constitution intended it to be, with CC regulated by laws and permits, and OC not illegal for anyone who can possess a firearm. The [incorrect] AG opinion last summer that we could ONLY CC spurred the process along, and now we have a clearly written law that describes what is concealed and what is not.
5. This website makes my blood boil. TN definitely could do better.
6. The car tag analogy doesn't necessarily apply. Yes, if my car was stolen, I would want cops running plates of similar vehicles. Plates are always in plain view when not on provate property, and are not in any way intended to be hidden. We have laws requiring our license plate numbers to be visible.    On the other hand, if I had a flatscreen TV, MacBook, or other similar expensive item stolen from me, I would not want police randomly pulling such items from vehicles in normal traffic stops merely to run the serial number. It's a violation of the 4A, and it's a dangerous road to go down when I allow routine 4A violations just to get my TV back.    If the 4th Amendment was something worth dying for to millions in our country's history, I figure not violating it in random traffic stops is worth the chance of not getting my stolen TV, laptop, or gun back. I'll keep my liberty over my flatscreen.
7. If I were spotted CCing, I'd just tell them what it is. It's sad that we are so hush-hush and PC about exercising a natural right.
8.   This is unfortunate. Yes, there is reasonable suspicion for a stop for carrying (shouldn't be, but whatever), but there is no RAS whatsoever that the firearm is stolen, and it seems like a search of the serial number goes outside the scope of the original stop.
9. This is a load of stinky male bovine excrement. If 70% of the NRA's members were against something the NRA supported, their membership would be falling off a cliff right now rather than skyrocketing.
10. Doesn't the law require a "reasonable" fear that the permit holder is a danger to himself or the officer in order to disarm? Mere possession and otherwise cooperation by no means inducers of a "reasonable" fear. This should be held to the same standard as RAS before an officer can disarm, rather than just at a whim, if we're going by what the law says.
11. Schools should definitely be included in the parking lot bill. I'd like to see vehicle carry without a permit. A personal vehicle should be treated like your own property as far as what's you possess inside it.
12.
Make sure they get a chance to shoot - it's empowering and addictive..
Oh they will. No worries there.
13. People always have the capacity to kill another human being, unless they are in chains or don't have limbs. If a person convicted of a violent crime is released and still bent on killing somebody else, they will, whether it be with a gun, knife, pointy stick, backhoe, or a sucker punch with their bare hands. Laws will do nothing to stop it. It's the same simple argument we use against gun control all the time. If they're gonna kill somebody, they will regardless. If they're not, they won't even if they own a whole arsenal. Short version: If not in jail or on probation, rights should be restored.
14. It's worked for me once (too bad she's still a Democrat ). I think I might potential have two more victims this Sunday. No better way to entice liberal audio engineering students than by recording gun shots for sound effects!
15. Another good point about GA is that carrying in itself is not RAS for LEO to check your permit.
16. My fiance' is happy that I carry, though I have been known to get in trouble for spending too much in ammo. People who aren't that familiar with guns are often oblivious to the fact that we're carrying. I took a friend of mine of a motorcycle ride a while back. I was carrying an FNX-9 OWB under a t-shirt and jacket. We rode for about an hour, and I asked when I was about to leave if she had noticed it. Not that I wanted to show it off, I was just curious since she hadn't acted like she noticed. She didn't have a clue and was like "Cool! Can I see it?" People really don't have a clue.
17. I have never had issues OCing at state parks, but I rarely pass rangers on the hiking trails either. They should know it's legal, the law changed more than three years ago.
18. Kinda makes me want to do business there if they're that gun friendly.
19. The bank has a sign up welcoming CC...here's the link again, in case you want to read it this time. http://www.stltoday....4baebc1539.html
20. My Sig p938 has a safety since it's SA, and I use it. I carry my FNX-9 (DA/SA w/ manual safety) hammer down safety off.
21. Try this link http://lmgtfy.com/?q=site%3Atngunowners.com+open+carry Personally, I like to mix it up. It allows me to do what I feel comfortable with for the activities of that particular day.
22. I had the DB9 up until a few weeks ago (wanted a Sig 938). It did have some FTF's, but I figure it was more ammo-picky than anything. Very light and concealed very easily. Snappy is an understatement. I bought a Hogue Jr slip-on grip for it, and it made a world of difference. Not a bad little gun overall.
23. I would say whichever you feel more confortable drawing from and in your ability to retain your firearm. For me, anything below Level II is not an option for OC, regardless of the type of retention.
