  1. I used to work for Eastern Mountain Sports up in CT, (REI's main competitor) and sold a lot of hiking shoes. The bottom line is that the various brands tend to favor various foot shapes and you need to determine which brand is best for your dogs. If you have an REI anywhere near you, go try a bunch on. They also sell packs, tents, bags, stoves, trail meals, water filters....you get the idea. Both REI and EMS also have online stores.
  2. True that. I use Acronis True Image on both my studio and home machines, huge time saver. I clone a spare drive and drop it in if I have a fatal crash. 20-30 minutes and I'm back.
  3. Spray kitchen cleaners like Fantastik or 409 work well, the extreme alkalinity puts bugs right down. Black widow webs are extremely tough, like monofilament fishing line and in a random 3D pattern, something to watch out for in the shrubs.
  4. Seagate or Maxtor, new. I have piles of external drives I use for backing up sessions in my recording studio, both brands have held up well. Try directron.com as a source.
  5. I'm a lefty, but have a slight tremor in my left arm, so lately shooting righty with right eye, seems to be working. Carry in front right pocket with DeSantis pocket holster.
  6. Collards are prolific and easy, so is okra. Yellow squash is another high yield item. Gotta have hot peppers too, their medicinal!
  7. My first piece, a Hi Standard Sport King Model 10, bought for $96 new.
  8. First range date today.......with .357 148gr SJHP's, shot 3" groups at 100 yards with iron sights. Me likey!
  9. Haven't seen any comments about non hybrid seeds here, definitely worth having an inventory in case the bottom ever does drop out. Store bought seeds will not yield plants with viable seeds for future plantings. If anyone has limited space, or lack of tools for making an in ground plot, you can plant directly in bags of potting soil. Poke several drain holes in one side, cut "x's" with a utility knife in the other side and plant seeldings there. Bags can be used up to 4 years. Requires watering twice daily in hot weather.
  10. File a complaint with the state consumer affairs department, put some outside heat on them.
  11. I can relate, had a few similar issues the last several years. I've had epididimytus and had surgery for a spermatocele, also get referred pain in the region from a bulging disc in my lower back. No fun, passing along best wishes.
  12. This made Facebook also, posted by a page for the town. I've been seeing a lot of snakes the last couple of weeks along the roads.
  13. My father in law's neighbor across the street is a founding member of the "breakfast club" that's there occupying the bench out front every morning for coffee and snacks. I'll drop in next time I'm over that way.
  14. I carry a 605 snubby that's nothing but sweet to shoot. I decided on all steel rather than an alloy or composite piece, so far so good.
  15. I guess if you need them, they are! I don't own an M16, just did a search and this hit the top of the list.
  16. Might just start bringing the Mini 14 to the grill with me.
  17. Actually had a drone fly over our place last year. I was outside grilling a steak, heard an unusual motor sound approaching, and here comes this torpedo with stubby wings and a push prop whizzing over. If I had to guess, it was around 12-15 feet long.
  18. BS on both partie's accounts. Warranty is issued to retail buyer, not wholesale dealer, and doesn't start until retail sale takes place. What warranty card has anyone ever filled out that didn't ask for a purchase date? Every once in awhile, government can be useful: http://www.tn.gov/consumer/index.shtml
  19. Nice! I'm loving my 75 Compact, fantastic piece.
  20. http://m-16parts.com/index1.html
  21. Just ordered 100 rounds of Bitterroot Valley Bear Loads for when the zombies show up, lol. Here's some more interesting reading on ballistics: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/05/chris-dumm/lever-action-ballistics-30-30-vs-357-magnum/
  22. +1 on the Rossi M92, just bought one yesterday with a 16" barrel. I found a ballistic chart for .357 through different length barrels, and turns out 16" gives the most oomph: http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/357mag.html
